Meyer's lemon with tiny outgrowth

I purchased a dwarf MeyerÂs lemon tree in mid-October from a nursery. When I bought it in a 5-gallon bucket, the tree had many flowers but no fruit. I replanted it into a one half oak wine barrel with sufficient drainage and it stays on the sunny side of my deck. We receive heavy fog in the bay area, especially in the winter; so, I bought a pop up green house to shelter my tree from fog, rain, and cold (mid-November). But, all my blossoms molded and I washed off the mold and blossoms with water and my fingers. Then, I noticed tiny outgrowths (3/8" long x 1/8" diameter) after removing the moldy blossomsÂfruit I thought. But none of the outgrowth has changed size in 2 months. I think they have turned a darker green. Should I cut them off? Or should I wait longer? I did dissect one of them. I texture is like hard lemon rind and it had a hint of citrus scent. Please advise.
