Jessaka, Yellow leaves alone only mean stress and the stress can include, but not be limited to, overwatering or underwatering. If the leaves are turning bright yellow and quickly dropping, and there are no dark specks, spots or splotches on the leaves, then my best guess is that it is overwatering, although it is impossible to know without seeing the tree. I just cannot imagine your trees ever got dry enough this winter to cause the leaves to yellow and fall now. Even here in very dry southern Oklahoma where drought is common and my fruit trees get very little supplemental watering, I've never lost one because of a lack of moisture--even in years when we only had 18 to 22" of rainfall. Transplant shock is a possibility though. You can see transplant shock as late as 12 to maybe 15 months after a tree was transplanted into the ground, although it is more common in the first 6 months after transplantation. A late case of transplant shock can appear months after the damage to the tree was done because trees can operate for quite a while off stored energy. If your yellowing leaves have any specks, spots, or splotches that are brown, black, purplish or some other odd color, then your tree likely has a bacterial or fungal infection. Dawn

Looks like its getting burnt to a crisp. When did you plant it? If it doesn't have any roots set up, it's getting blazed with hot sun, and you fertilized it, I think that would cause the burning. There could be something wacky with your soil too.

regardless of where you live.. didnt fall start last week??? and it was recently transplanted ... and its a largish plant ... its stressed ... and finally.. its a deciduous tree ... the stresses are making it shut down a bit early ... i am presuming this is a eastern redbud.. Cercis canadensis ....of which i am familiar... if not.. then my answer might change .... i only mean to point out that your use of a common name can lead to confusion .... so use of the latin name would make it specific .... one of the reasons trees are planted dormant ... is that you dont have leaves to worry about on deciduous trees .... or they are dormant on evergreen plants .... either way.. you usually just dont have to look at something like this.. and then worry ... anyway.. just water deeply and properly with near drying before repeating ..... and see what happens .... see link on watering ... since it deciduous.. there is no use spraying anything on leaves that are going to fall off this time of year ... imo ... ken https://sites.google.com/site/tnarboretum/Home/planting-a-tree-or-shrub

We need to know all of the following in order to make any kind of meaningful comments :-) your geographic location - state and largest big city what kind of tree when was it planted (if you know) usual summer weather and watering practices and as many clear photos as you can manage...the tree as a whole, shots of the branches with dead leaves and close ups of the leaves (front and back) as well. Fwiw, some trees will have assorted leaves dry and brown a bit in summer and also many that will tend to hold their leaves very late into the season and even through winter. Does not necessarily mean the tree is sick or ailing.
