Is my venus fly trap alive?

Hello,
This is my first posting, I have recently purchased a Venus Fly Trap from Lowe's and brought it home. There were some black ones that I cut off. There are still some of the bulbs with little black parts on the sides of them, but since most of it is green, I thought it's okay to keep it like that.
Only one of the bulbs actually responds to food though. The other ones are open very wide and didn't even respond to a little spider walking through it. Are they dead?
I kept it in the plastic container with peat moss because I'm still nervous if I move it to make it worse. It's outside on my porch now in the shade, because I know it shouldn't get direct sunlight and I pour distilled water in it from petco because it's the same water I use for my water dragon pool. Please help!
