So happy...

Here are some pictures of my lemon tree. I planted it three years ago and have seen only two flowers throughout it's life. We had a hard freeze in some areas last week and this tree received the royal treatment - wrapped, covered, Christmas lights and a halogan light at the base. It seems to be thriving and I am hoping for at least some lemons in the Fall. This tree is full of thorns. I thought it was a Eureka but I am not sure. I would appreciate any comments on my little baby that is growing up.

First of all...CONGRADULATIONS!!tcanora!!!

I am so happy for you!! Even more so becuase it was 80 degrees there today!!!!! Not like here.

What you did was smart thing...Wow. Great idea. And look at the results. You should be proud of yourself. Hopefully the warmth will stay for you now. I have another 4 months before I even see the 80's..lol..oops..:-(
To me it looks like a "Lemon Meyer". Mine looks the same as yours. It has thorns, the leaves look the same, and the flower buds are pink like that, then open exactly like yours. Maybe I'm wrong.
Keep up the good work, or should I say, stay in Florida where your sun and warmth do most of the work!!
P.S. I just met a member who grows some citrus outdoors up here in Mass, yes! Can you believe it? I have to find out how he does it..

One more thing...Looks like it might be needing Iron or Nitrogyn eventually with the yellowing. So to save you the time on asking,maybe someone can chime in and let you know.

Good for you IÂm glad it was that easy for you. It took nine months of the GE repairman coming to my house every Monday before GE finally replaced my less than 2 year old refrigerator. My neighbor thought I was having a fling with the young man and ask DH about it. LOL He replaced everything in the refrigerator and it still froze everything I put in it. Well I order for the first time from High Country Roses. I was so surprised at the beauty of the plants!! I saw a review on them here on Houzz and others recommended them. Also now I know why Heirloom Roses is now so expensive. That sucks. They do have nice roses, but $45 plus shipping? Wow. Thank you to everyone who recommended them, they are fabulous roses. Just don't add either of those nutrients at this time of year. Nitrogen could cause problems and iron becomes rather insoluble in cold temperatures. Typically, many iron-loving plants become a little mottled or yellow in the winter but quickly color up as the soil temperatures get warmer.

Mike, we moved here from NY eight years ago. I was sure I was going to hate the lack of seasons especially since I love Fall. To my surprise I have never looked back. The only thing I regret is not planting my citrus trees sooner. I thought I would have fruit the fist year, and have been waiting anxiously for these buds. It's been worth the wait.

I don't think it's a Meyer as I don't care for them. I got this tree for Mother's Day and told my husband I wanted a traditional lemon like you buy in the supermarket. I am pretty sure it's a Lisbon or a Eureka (or possible a Bearrs) but I can't remember which.

Isn't Bearrs a lime? Same as Persian/Tahiti?

In Florida, under that warm sunny weather, it shouldn't be too long!

I am pretty sure that Bearrs is a lime so that rules that one out! LOL I am sure it's a lemon tree.
