Do I keep the volunteer tomatoes?

I have six volunteer tomatoes. The squirrels hit my lemon pear and one of my champions pretty hard. The only plants I got tomatoes from - were completely caged.

I'm still a new enough gardener that it's hard to kill anything. If I was going to keep these - I'd have to move a couple of them as they are too close to other things. Should I bother? I could pull the okra and put them there.

I haven't pulled the ones in the cages - they are still producing.

I'm having an awkward time in the garden right now. I have the peas coming up. Planted broccoli two weeks ago - and lots of root seeds. But nothing is really producing right now - in between time.

Wondering how much people plan for the transition from hot weather to cool weather crops? Ideally I could keep the garden producing year round - but I haven't quite figured out a pattern.

Thanks.

Vicki
