Unbelievable we still have....

Warm weather.

Yesterday and today we saw:

Monarchs (still have cats & eggs too)

GF

a beautiful male PV

buckeye(s) and cats on plantain

RA

Sulphurs

Orange sulphurs

Painted Lady

Lots of skippers

dreading the first freeze....we had some cold nights....a few, low 30's...then the warm came...and they all came back!

Now, a puzzling question...why do I have monarchs still staying and mating....would it be because of the A Currasavica? I had one eclose today, and still have lots of cats. I have found some dead chrysalyses, probaby exposed to cold. Theory is native MW would be dead, but here, we have A Humistrada, wich lives in the piney sun filtered woods...and I have seen it at a large size in MArch, meaning it has grown through the winter.
