Large flower perennials drought tolerant

Greetings all. I live in a rental house that has a 30' long bed against the entire south side of the house. The bed is 22' inches deep. It is bordered by a 2' wide sidewalk and then there is a 30' box hedge that we keep about two feet tall so as to not shade the bed against the house.

This is my third year with this bed and I'd like more large flowered or large leafed things in there. The bed dries out quickly due to the location and reflected light and heat from the house which is painted white. Also, I can prune, but I do need plants with more upright habits given the narrow bed and walkway.

What is doing well in there now is:

Aster frikartii Monch

Lavender

Tagetes lemonii

Penstemon Enor

Agastache incana

Agastache rugosa

Salvia Dancing Dolls

Verbena De La Mina (the only verbena IMO)

All the things are small flowered and small leafed, so there are no color statements.

Any suggestions for upright, large leafed or flowered somewhat drought or s tolerant perennials shrubs? Thanks, Kristine
