OT Had To Share What Just Went Up!!

Some of you know we have had some neighbor issues and after 2 years it's finially going to come to a close.

There are more photos at the photobucket site so you can see what I have had to do to get this solved and why I have been away. I'm just sick as we will not be able to recoup the costs or the loss of the 200+ trees either. Yes a lot had to be removed to get this put up. But it's now onto landscaping and more changes!!

Karma, it looks absolutely great! You will be so much happier now! I'm sorry you had to lose so many trees, but really, it was worth it wasn't it?

That looks great Karma. I'm sorry about your trees too but I see lots of potential for new stuff to be grown as well, lol.

Karyn, I am soooo scared of earthquakes. I felt 2 big ones ...first one in Romania a 7.5. It was about 32y.ago. It happened at 10 pm and if I would have been home and in bed I would probably have died. Part of the wall where my headboard was, fell on my pillow. I was young and I did not went to bed so early LOL. I was at some friends house when it hit and I did not know what happened. In the beginning I thought a war started. A friend of mine was begging me to run outside but I could not move. I was parallelized. I was like in a trance and I was picturing a house I've seen in a movie who was shaking and than fell. In that moment I realized that the house might fell and I ran outside. I could not see anything just a lot of dust everywhere, bricks and building material falling around me. It was a miracle I was not hit. It was a lot of damages, lots of tall buildings( 10 stories) fell to the ground and thousands of people died .I can not tell you the terror I went through until I located my parents ,my sisters and brother. We were living in different parts of the city. There was no light, no telephone or transportation working. We reunite sometimes during the night. Thanks God we were all alive, not hurt just scared. The second big one (about 7) was in California about 20y ago when I was 3 month pregnant. I was in a supermarket paying for my groceries when it hit. This time I knew better and I ran out as fast as I could. Lucky me I was not through the aisles to be hit by falling products and selves .I was closed to the door and avoided the crowd. I loved it, I shared it with George so he could tell it the next time he goes to have his blood work done. The ladies in the hospital are always asking him if he has any new jokes. Shoot, I'd pay the man $40 if he'd come clean my house. I certainly don't have time to do it like I'd like it done. LOL Thanks for the laughs. Marian

I know what you mean. I cruise CL for laughs too. I found one once that said 'GIRLS HEAD AND FOOT'. Sometimes just the prices for the items makes me laugh. Today someone is selling a USED Queen mattress set for $650. I don't care what it cost new it's still a used mattress.

Ok, now NO LAUGHING at my class pieces...... the pansies turned out ok, considering I had NEVER done this before, BUT the rose was a dissapointment...... Again pansies were a certified DD teacher, roses weren't. With the pansies we learned, using the big flat brush, then painted our piece with that same brush. Roses were learned (on the pratice plastic sheets) with the big fat brush, BUT then had to switch to the small one to paint on our board. Doesn't sound like a big thing, but (at least for me) it was......also as I said , we "learned" the grapevine wreath (supposed to be heart shaped....), & the wisteria on the wreath, but it was TOOOO much for 1 class. To me, the pieces look reveresed, it looks like I did the roses 1st, then the pansies. (There was about 18 months from 1 class to the next.). As I said, don't laugh..... Hazel (One thing I did learn was to get the clear plastic page protectors, the ones you slide paper into from the top, & put your practice page inside, so you paint on the plastic. They are cheap, & you get a bunch, so you can paint, take out the practice page & do it again, so you can see how you improve. Then you just wash them under the tap & use them again.....) I'm sorry you had to go through all of that because of some %^$# neighbors but the fence does look nice. I really like the way the white contrasts with the plants. It really sets them off well.

Karma, it looks beautiful! I'm so happy for you getting to block those nasty neighbors out. I have a neighbor problem too and wish I could fence my property, but I'm a single parent and its just so expensive. I keep threatening to buy a pound of dandilion seed and blowing them in that direction. LOL. (can you imagine how many dandilion seed it would take to make a pound).

I love your landscaping. Its so lovely and I always enjoying seeing your 'in progress' pictures.

Congratulations on that new fence and a toast to the Peace!

Thank you gals! DH was just shocked to see it all completed this evening when he got home. It's going to get some getting used to as we only had a 4 foot chain link fence before. I just stand on the deck and I'm so greatful for doing this, it's so peaceful now. It cuts down the sound from the north and no more north wind!! We have a month before we have to dig up and I have started putting the little seedlings out! Just watch this area grow, input please.

It looks great! And it does enhance the plants - that's a good thing! And I'm sure you'll end up making it a focal point of your landscaping. You'll have so many more beautiful plants - I know you will! ;)

The fence really looks nice and does set off the gardens nicely. I hate that you have the nasty neighbors but this should solve alot of the problem. The gardens are looking great and I hope the seedlings do well for you

Karma, I think it looks gorgeous! I am about to do the same thing with my front yard, but hey it's a chance to re-design right. I am sorry for the loss of your trees, but I am sure it will bounce back very quickly. Linda

Thank you everyone, I spent most of my day out there today getting the hoses back into place and scoping out what needs to move to the back yard. We are also starting to get the Brug House ready for winter.

Congrats Karma, that fencing is very, very nice -- bet it cost you a good penny! Your garden was always beautiful, but the fencing just shows it off better.

I love your new fence. Am I right that it is a vinyl fence?
If it is, no more painting, just hose it off with a garden hose and it will look like a new fence all over again. They are really nice.

I don't know the story why you lost 200 trees. But wow...200 trees is like a small forest I hate to hear you had to lose them. But I have to say the yard is looking great. Bet you'll have some gorgeous pics to share next summer. :)
