Thanks everybody, I appreciate the pointers. We moved everybody into the sun porch. I have a huge brass planter out there. It's about 2 feet high with a 24" diameter. I placed the plastic milk crate down inside of it. There was also plenty of room for several small tree brances with nylon screen covering the top to keep them inside. The cat that I'm concerned about was also moved there. Honestly, last night I thought for sure the big cat was dead. Well, this morning he was still moving around. I did put some tender leaves inside for him but he wasn't interested in them. I also misted a few leaves with water in case he was thirsty. Should I be concerned about that? I thought about putting him back on the tree. He's not as big as he was when he left the tree...he looks shorter. Anyway, for the past 2 or 3 hours, he's been in the same spot. Keep your fingers crossed! I wish that our lime tree was huge. Unfortunately, we just purchased it this year. It's less than 5 feet tall. The inverted wire basket is a great idea (thanks for the photo). I have a couple of them in the garage. I also have some plastic broadcloth. I use it in the pond to keep the fish away from my plants. Honey, honey hush, Texaxpuddyprint, I never would have thought of that one! I'll certainly give it a try. I know that I need a better place to keep my cats. I'd sure like to see some pictures of your cat/butterfly homes. Perhaps you know of a website that tells you how to build a good, safe place to raise your cats. Oh thank you all so much!! Miss sherry, I only have one citrus tree actually planted in yard so far, it was here already and it's a Washington navel dwarf, and thought it was dead after all the freezes last winter and all the cats eating leaves,but recently a few shoots of new leaves started growing out from root, original tree (it's tiny) is all dead wood so idk what's going on with the new stems popping up, they are kind of on side right next to the "dead" stems. I need to plant something and get it established before I get bombarded with eggs next summer! Thanks for the coffee suggestions!! I always have coffee around so will try tomorrow!! Thanks again everyone!! So far looks like all of the cats are okay with the lime, had a few that wandered around for a few hours, I guess looking for lemon leaves. Lol, I had one 5th instar a while back, moved him indoors to feed him older satsuma leaves and leave new growth on lemon for the little cats, he had just molted into last instar, and anyway, moved him in, he didn't eat satsuma leaves or the orange leaves I tried and then he made his sling and pupated, never even purged, never ate one bite after molting last time, but he eclosed just fine and flew right off after a couple hours!! Karen, thank you for your update, what a beautiful boy he is! Lobo is a very lucky boy to be able to live with such special humans! Like you Melissa next door's cat, who only moved in over the summer, is now in the garden a lot. He's doing a lot of the same things as Tiger in the same places, which really knocks me back sometimes, but he's friendly and usually comes over and says hello before going about his business. My lady Slinky has come to terms with things now and is a happy little old lady. Nice to see updates from you all :)

Donna- I haven't caught much of anything but I think the oil might be too thin or that I don't have that much rose midge yet. I'm going to try coating them with vaseline instead. I don't think too many insects could escape that sticky mess. They do look pretty though :-) I'm trying vaporvacs method with the plastic bags and thinking of spraying or coating this too with oil, not vaseline, (that would take forever!) so if any larvae land on the plastic they won't be able to wiggle their way to the edge and into the soil. Just slowly pecking away at it between the rain, the heat and the curve-balls life throws at you. Hopefully I'll be done before winter! Carol- I do rinse my bird baths once in a while. I did see some goldfinches in my triple fountain once and that has a bubbler at the top. Sharon
