Where to Buy Venus Flytrap Bulbs?

I'm looking to buy some new VFT bulbs. Does anyone know of a good place to buy them, where the bulbs are not too expensive?

Web sites I've seen have outrageous prices and/or shipping and handling charges for VFT bulbs.

i bought my venus fly trap in january i left it in the same lil dome but cut off the top so the plant can be exposed....i water it from the bottom so it soaks up but it seems that it is dying and lil white moss stuff is growing and little tiny insects are in the soil..(EWWWW) but anyways what should i do i live in california and its cold and i put the heater on so my room kinda gets heated and when its off i put it on top of my cable box so the little heat it gives off can keep it warmm.....any suggestions on why its dying or what i could do...

It is best to buy peat moss and perlite separately because most of soil mix do have fertilizer in them. Sail + VF= death plant I am assume you get your snow from the street where they spray down with salt to melt the snow? What you can do is wash the root with distilled water, get new media, keep it in low light and wait

Yes I am from Southern California...I'm lucky if it rains sometime in the next 6 months, which it wont. So I bought distilled water today, cheaper than I thought it would be. On my brown one, everything is brown, the leaf the trap and all. the other one just the little hairs on the trap mouth are black, but I've been hardening them off and it's kinda starting to open up...does that mean i can salvage this one? And i should take it out and wash it off with distilled and put it back in it's pots? And it's okay I took them out of the terrariums, right? cos they have been for a few days now. I thought you couldnt use bottled water because it has sodium in it, good to know. So if I change my watering process i should be okay? Thanks so much for the answers

Hi welcome to the forum, as of right now most venus flytraps are dormant so you might want to wait until spring if you want actual plants. heres a few websites: www.bugbitingplants.com i ordered some vfts from them a few years ago, they were very healthy and came shipped very nice, i havn't ordered from them since then but they might be a likely place to purchase your vfts from, i got bareroot pitcherplants from them also with fair results www.cobraplant.com they are my fav nursery, but im thinking about trying out a new website, but i would highly reccomend them for any cp, they are shipped fast and plants almost experience not shock www.blackjungle.com i ordered a couple of neps from this nursery a few years ago they came in great shape. i havn't ordered from them since then. www.cpjungle.com i have heard they are a great nepenthes nursery and i do plan on ordering from them when i get my x-mas money, they specialize in nepenthes you can also check out homedepot/walmart/lowes/etc, they have vfts sometimes although they are usually not properly cared for, as they go dormant and they are treated as houseplants at those stores, ive also seen some neps from those places, usually, n. ventricosa, n.ventrata, n.rafflesiana. good luck, are you just starting the hobby? if you are you will be very happy with them, hope this helps

Thanks for the advice, but I just looked at Cobraplant.com (also named Saracenia Northwest) but there are currently no VFT bulbs advertised there, only the plants for $5.95 each. Plus S+H .

I may buy there, but I was hoping to just buy the bulbs at a lower price than this.

How many VFT bulbs do you want and do you have anything to trade? other plants not even carnivorous. Old coins, make a suggestion.

the plants aren't .95 cents each, now it's around 11 dollars also, FlytrpL8E, would it be possible to trade something? I know that it's 13 years ago but... i'll try

Great selection and always great plants. You will not find just bulbs probably anywhere. I've never heard of anyone selling just bulbs.

New member here! My name is Sharon, and I'm a plant grower in New England. I grow a variety of plants at home -- mostly cactii and succulents. I'm a big fan of Opuntia and South African caudiciforms.

Earlier this year in the midst COVID, my spouse and I decided to try something new and revisit a childhood passion of ours -- growing carnivorous plants! What better time to do this than in the middle of a stay-at-home pandemic? We looked at a few online vendors' offers and ultimately chose to go with VenusFlytrap.com. The plants arrived very well packaged and are generously sized. Each plant came with its own 3-inch pot and a hearty portion of long New Zealand sphagnum moss. After sticking them on my windowsill, one of my plants has already captured a fly!

I have attached some photos and hope everyone enjoys them. Thank you for welcoming me to the community.
