Nepenthes Alata

Hi I recently added to my collection of carnivorous plants a Nepenthes Alata, I have it on my window sill Were it receives bright shaded sunlight And im misting twice a day, And i am using tap water as i have discovered that its soft, as last year my VFT, Sundews and Butterworts loved it ( I am going to see if i can get a tester for the water for the PPM, On tuesday)

My question is how long does it take for the plant to develop traps it has one thats has turned brown but i have read not to cut it off until last possible moment, The leaves i have noticed Have gotten smaller since i got it and the ends of the leaves were the traps develop have little light brown (well hard to describe) but there not growing at all, but im pretty sure that the stalk of the trap is getting slowly longer.

Are nepenthes slow growing? Or am i doing something wrong

Btw I live in the North East In England

Patrick
