Glad to be back home

I'm so glad to be back home. I had to leave town unexpectantly back on July 22nd and just returned yesterday.

I know I'm a newbie but I really miss this forum and all you guys. I've been looking at what I've been missing and Wow!! some of you have some really great looking pics of your gardens and some fantastic looking brug blooms. I love looking at all the photos. They give me ideas for my own garden. What's really great is when you all post your photos you include the name of the brug which I am making a list of "Must Haves". Can you have too many brugs? :)

Hey Deb !! Hope you leaving town was a good thing..LOL So very nice to have you home.. Hope you got some rain while you were away..

I wish I had been on vacation or having fun, not the case, been having renter problems down in Austin but that's a long story.

Hubby said that we got some rain here at home one day but that was about it. My daughter did get some good rain down in Austin from the last tropical storm that hit a little over a week ago. It was much needed rain. I think we're all in the same boat and need rain. I've more or less given up on the lawn and just keep the shrubs and plants watered. I just heard the weather tonight and most of the rain will be just south of DFW but we need to keep our fingers crossed that some will sneak up here. I'm telling you my lawn would love a shower. Someone needs to do that Nekkid Turtle Dance I read about in the Texas Forum. That was just tooooo funny :)

Hey there Westelle! Sorry to hear about your DD, hope she is recoverd and doing o.k.! I've had a few of those "border crossing" moments, but only on one occassion did I have to surrender my plants, that was o.k. as later I found out it wouldn't have survived our hot summers. I was at the office until after 7:30 pm. The heat was like a furnace when I stepped outside. The contractors ripped out the sidewalk yesterday and dumped the cement in the dumpster today. I don't know how they can stand the heat! My boss wanted to give me Friday off, but I have too much work to do. If I skip a day, there will just be more work next week. I love my job, but it is demanding. I'm just glad for the AC!

I don't know when I traveled the last time because I wanted to, Being the only one in our generation who is still mobile and retired, I am the one to represent the older family at the bad family occasions. Hospital visitor, funerals, helping clean out family papers, etc. Bluntly speaking, besides my husband, there is just one of our generation alive, so I don't think I have to do much more emergency travels. I do though also travel a lot via internet and prior to that, I always traveled in my dreams and still do.

Deb I know what you mean about this forum. Check in first thing in the morning and last thing at night and it drives me crazy when I can not get connected.
Crossing my fingers still for all of us who are waiting so desperately for rain.

Hey, Deb if you have some free time when you are passing through let me know. You are welcome to visit. We are all hoping for the rain. You have to drink lots of fruity drinks before you do the nekkid turtle dance, lol. Did you see that pic over there, it was really funny.

Ooooh, ROAD TRIP...That does sound like fun. You know I've been to Austin many times and have always wanted to go to the Lady Byrd Johnson Wildflower park and the Austin Botanical Gardens and never seem to get to either. Maybe we should plan a trip.

Luzia, I do find myself on here when I should be doing something else. While in Austin and didn't have an internet connection, I felt a little lost. It was a bummer.

I mean reading the posts prior to that are making you laugh and then that pic pops up and you just have to burst out in laughter. They must have done it today because I got about 10 mins of hard rain this evening. It didn't last long but every bit helps. Looks like you might have got a little rain also according to the radar, I hope you did.
Thank you for the invite, I really might drop by sometime. I know we will probably drive to Austin in Sept/Oct because that's football season in Longhorn country. Hook "em Horns.

Thanks Suzie, hope everything is going well with you.

When I left I told my hubby to be sure to water my sticks (the new baby brugs). He did a good job because when I returned I was pleasantly surprised to see they both had good size leaves. They are doing well :)
