Giants Galore!

Well, for me that is! I went outside in the backyard to check the garden (haven't been out there for a couple of weeks). I have several Rue plants in a raised bed, and I collected about 11 caterpillars, with still a few eggs to hatch.

This is the highest number of GSTs I've ever had in the garden! I usually get no more than 5, usually 2 or 3 at a time. Anyone else seeing a plethora of GSTs?

Also have Monarch babies on the milkweed, GFs on the Passion Vine, and STILL BSTs on the fennel.

The blue mistflower (ageratum houstonianum) is blooming now as well as the Aster tartaricus 'Jindai' and the butterflies, especially the skippers are having a field day. Mama Monarch is loving the blue mistflower and the lantana 'Miss Huff' and zinnias, of course. She just seems to love staying here, and has been in the yard for over a week now still laying eggs. Isn't it getting a bit late for that?

Missed you all!

Susan
