Just brought back a few things from the garden:

Lettuces and beet greens

Peas, green beans, zucchini, golden beets, beet greens, onions

Beets roasting in the oven, considering a pasta and greens dish with lots and lots of garlic!

Oh my goodness, they look delicious! I've never eaten fresh beets but I bet they are scrumptious!

Diane, what a great garden you must have -- I am jealous! I planted zucchini, egg plant, and two kinds of green beans, and the plants all dried up! It's just been too, too hot here lately. Actually, the egg plant is still alive but just not growing so much. I am trying watermelon in a pot as last year's, earwigs or something got to the small melons when they were about the size of a baseball. I have this vision of growing a lot of my own food, but of course I don't want to put in all the work, LOL! Great job, Diane, what else are you growing, foodwise?

YUMMM.. Lucy that sounds good.. DH has been on the tractor alllll day .. Soooo we are going with Ribeyes Brussels and sauted shrooms with onions.. 4 aspirin and Frosty Bev's..Hope he can make it past half-time...LOL I will be watchin tho.... The next best thing to football is Racin and that starts next week...WOOHOO!! Daytona 500 is just around the corner.....

That's why I stopped growing cruciferous veggies. They were always full of those little green cabbage loopers. Seven Dust also works well but it is a pesticide and will kill other things besides the bad bugs. I like BT because it's harmless to everything but caterpillars but it doesn't kill immediately.

Our 70 pound 6 y/o chocolate lab/husky mix is fed raw. Mostly chicken parts and beef meaty bones, like soup bones with some other bones like marrow for gnawing. We'll give him a breast, or a couple of thighs or about 4 drumsticks or wings if it's chicken. We just kind of eyeball it and go with what feels right. He also helps with table scraps and I'll give him a spoon of coconut oil a couple times a week... LOVES that. His teeth are gorgeous, no tartar at all. Beautiful choppers on that boy! One thing we read that seemed to make sense was that wild dogs don't get to eat everyday, they feast when they have a kill and then may go for days without eating again. Anyway, the thought was that a fast one day a week was good for them. Gotta say that Rummy (dog) is not a big fan of this idea, lol. Here he is fwiw:

Sheila I like the look of drumstick allium from their photos.... but have you seen them in zone 9b? I haven't seen them growing anywhere near me. Some say they're good through zone 9 or 10, but I notice most seem to look better in zone 8 or below.... and I'm in a hot pocket area of 9b. My area seems to be a much hotter area for "zone 9." The heat sticks around here since it's such a valley. This just might not be the right climate. It would be fun to try some allium bulbs just to see though. Maybe I will put some in the same potted area where the raspberries are. Trish have fun with it. I was pretty amazed at how fast they grew!

That looks fantastic. I live in the North, and I've never seen peas and green beans at the same time in a home garden.

Please tell me how you prepared this meal. I'm having vegetarian guests in 3weeks and I'd like to email the mom some menu choices and ask what her fav or seldom gets meal. I was thinking about grilling a variety of veggies and have wraps. Guess I need to read all labels.

Yumm, roasted beets. The veggies look great. I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't been to the farm in over 2 weeks and have no idea what's going on in the fields.

Pretty as a picture! Our veggies here in the South aren't as good tasting as back home, (NY, where we get RAIN and cooler temps) Veggies are tougher, and tasteless. I don't even bother growing them any more. ( sad:( Thanks for reminding me of what we used to grow!
