Garden Hop

Yesterday I went to a small garden gathering cookout and swap--took lots of plants and came home with way more than I took! Some succulents, lots of vines, broms, and more coleus!!!

Today my garden buddies in Jax, Donna and Max came over to pick up some brug cuttings and see my new place with their children, Tony and Tristen--great kids! We loaded up some goodies here for them, and went to my old house to raid it!!! LOL They helped me clean out the greenhouse of pots that they could use for their nursery business plus dug up plants, did cuttings then went to their house unloaded their goodies and they loaded me up with some more plants!!

Then the rains came before I got home but I did not let that faze me--got suff unloaded and potted up--they got the high winds that I usually get and the rain here was a nice steady rain with no wind. Hope I left the bad stuff I usually get on the other side of town!!! LOL!!! Sorry Donna and Max but I need a break from it!!! LOL

It's been a good weekend! (Othere than coming home yeaterday to AC not woreking but did get the service people out last nite and I can "chill out" again!!

Thanks Donna and Max for a fun day!!! Now get those "goodies" planted!!!

Linda Thank you so much for having us over today! We really had a great time and Tristen is busy figuring out where she wants her shelf, I will have to hang it tomorrow.. The rain and wind finally left here (yes you outran it and left most of it behind) and I headed out to do some playing with all of our goodies..

The violet shrub is in my butterfly bed as an accent to he native butterfly bushes we just planted.. The angles ave been placed in teh growing ara and are awaiting he fencline to be cleared out so they cna go directly in the ground and the cuttings of course are happily awaiting tomorrow in a bucket of water. Max is playing with all his little baby bulbs (Thank you very much -he's been wanting some of these)
and will be putting them in the long planters you sent home with us..

Tell the hummer I will be back soon to sit wand watch her..

Really had a great time and cant wait to get together again.. Your place is beautiful and will only get better!

By the way Hello everyone Linda tells me you are all so sweet so I may be stopiing in and posting a bit.

The plants I bought are called Siberian Wallflower..really don't know anything about them.They looked pretty and the purple blooms called my name and the fact that it was a perennial. My daughter just bought over a very large hunk of her Mooonbeam coreopsis that I've been wanting for past 2 yrs. Since none of my coreopsis germinated in those coffee cups, her plant was a welcomed gift. When I get home from bowling tomorrow, I will break it up into many plants..it fills a round trash can lid. Must finish putting down the mulch tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday afternoon and plant the Moonbeam coreopsis.

Green bug, what is it?

It is a banded leafhopper adult in its final colorful stage. They can sometimes be numerous in the summer. I have not had any damage from them, but the spread of plant diseases is possible. In the summer, I sometimes see tiny misting droplets looking towards the sun and emanating from my caneberries and otheer shrubs. It is coming from these insects. A spray from a hose will send dozens of them into flight.

Love them all, but I'm especially excited to see that gorgeous Gypsy Carnival. Because of your enabling, I planted one this spring, but it's still too early for blooms yet--although two of my established bushes put out a bloom each this week. Can't wait to see my new Gypsy Carnival. Kate

Donna--Welcome to the forum! - jump in and post anytime--everyone here is friendly and very knowledgeable and we talk about other plants as well as brugs. Warning: many here are terrible enablers!
I will be busy finishing up the "carport" pond today, mowing the little patch of grass in the front and putting the other big brug branches in behind the potting area to hide the compost bin.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. Hopefully I can get to tending to my brugs and take a few picture today since they are (were) blooming their hearts out for me yesterday...

yay!! yes..pix please!! I have to live through others pix, as this is my first summer with brugs, and I have yet to get a bloom. Lost all my buds I had, boohoo.

Yes Donna! We all like to see pics!!! My blooms have been skimpy this year, browning the first day and buds blown off. Maybe iffthe weather improves I can get some decent blooms!!!
