No footprints or tracks in the soil around the plants?? Doesn't sound like deer. They'll decimate the plant foliage and sometimes the fruit. Raccoons? You'd see their prints. With their human hand-like front paws they can pick the fruit without disturbing the plant. Squirrels..if it's exceptionally dry,droughty weather they might take a few for the moisture. Such a massive taking requires an animal that can carry what they can't immediately eat. HUMANS Get a game trail camera and set it up to a post. If it disappears, it's a human stealing your tomatoes.

What variety is your plant? If you have other tomatoes, are they dropping their blossoms as well? Is the plant in-ground or in a container? When did you plant it? And most importantly, what has your weather been lately? Tomatoes, peppers and beans are especially picky about the air temps when it comes time to set fruit. If the night temps fall below 55 or rise above 75 or if the day temps are above 90, the pollen becomes tacky and non-viable. Pollination cannot occur. If the bloom isn't pollinated, the bloom dies and falls off. Funny you should mention "Patio Tomatoes." Seems the primary target of the rabbits in my garden are dwarf tomatoes with sweet fruit. In my case, it's the Lime Green Salad plants that get chewed back to a nub first. So, this year I planted a dozen or so right out on the border of the raised bed tomato patch, and sure enough, about six are really taking the brunt of the nocternal rodentary gnawing! Sacrificial lambs of the garden so to speak. BUT ... four alarm warning ... they attacked my wife's maiden hair ferns early this morning. Lawd have mercy ... you never heard such cursing! A cure? I've tried hot pepper flakes, ground cayenne, garlic squeezins, rotten egg water, human hair, fabric softener hankies, aluminum pie pan wind chimes, motion activated spot lights, leaving the dogs on the screen porch, tiger poop from the zoo ... everything. Fo'gettabowdit. Bugs is gonna win until Mr. Browing Pump comes outta the closet. But in my new life it's "live and let live," so I just keep pokin' new little Lime Green Salad plants along the border of the bed. Grow them up as large as you can in small pots and then plant them when they're still tender but bushy. I swear, the rabbits love that particular variety for some unknown reason. Bill

I think February is the right time to plant out tomato seedlings in your area and you would be picking tomatoes in April/May/June. People in the deep south can also grow a fall tomato crop planting out seedlings sometime in August I believe. If you can keep the plants alive you should start seeing some tomatoes set when the weather starts to cool down with highs in the 80s as others have mentioned.
