Finally - 'Day Dreams' & 'Pink Perfektion' Blooming!

I finally have a few blooms & I'll get to enjoy them before the move! Yay! 'Day Dreams & 'Pink Perfektion. I'm surprised at the 'Pink Perfektion' as it's not overly large - but has quite a few buds & blooms. 'Day Dreams' is about 4 1/2' tall & has one bloom & about three more buds showing. I can't wait to share these babies with you guys this fall! :) The little 'fellow' in the last few photos startled me when I first saw him. I figured he was just waiting on breakfast! :) And 'no' - I did not kill him! I believe he's still lying in wait......

Mike, your brugs and datura are fantastic. I'm not so thrilled with the snake though, LOL! I can't wait till fall and hopefully be able to get cuttings of your 'Day Dreams' & 'Pink Perfektion'.

Thanks guys! I can't believe it was the first brug to bloom. It's got about six more buds on it too! D, it smells slightly better than last year but, to me it has kind of a chemically/ plasticy(is that a word?)LOL smell.Kinda like when you open up a new shower curtain liner out of the package, with hints of melon.Maybe it's me. I do like the fragrance of that and the NBJ wafting through the air while in the hot tub though! You say: "I like to elevate my shorter ones when they are about to bloom so I dont have to touch the blooms to smell them and so I can see from under." Easy for you to do! I'm alot taller than you!LOL The beauty more than makes up for the fragrance up close!

Yep, that's pretty much what we do. Most of us have lots of extras when we cut our plants back and we enjoy sharing. We've created quite a few brug addicts. lol This forum is different in many ways from the others on GW.

I just happened to stumble unto this post because I was doing a search to find out what is wrong with my largest pink brug. The flowers don't seem to open fully and the tendrils curl downward instead of upward. It looks exactly like the one in the link. so I guess there's nothing wrong with it...it's just not the one I was hoping for! It's Insignis What I was looking for is the dark pink with strongly recurved flowers. Anyone near SE PA wanna trade?

He is only getting back his half. My half is reserved for some special plants I am growing that I am afraid if the heat goes off they will die. I like just walking out in the garage and having something blooming. It cheers me up in the winter. I am going to look at habitat for humanity tomorrow if the second attempt at running the electric goes well. I am going to look and see what kind of attic fans and counters they have. John gave me a double sink to put in there today. I told him I could not hook a drain to one side and fill it with potting soil and then pull the plug adn drop it back in the storage bin underneath to keep bugs out of it and all I need is a sprayer on it and it will work. I need to see if the poles I heard they have there are the right size. If they are and I can get a good deal on them I can use them to replace the shorter poles and get it level with out making it short. Sold a couple more things today so maybe I can get the wood to close in the ends and I'll be good I think. I was getting discouraged because I knew the money had to come from somewhere other than the shop to finish it and so sold some things on craigslist and some of them came through. I wish they all would have I would have a couple hundred more to work with. John has some shop lights for me too. Its looking better again. If I don't have problems with the electric again in the morning all will go well and I can have time to get my stuff mailed out if I don't have to work. Other wise I will take off the next day and get them out. Thanks for supporting me in this. It means a lot to me. I think Patty is enjoying JD sniffing all my flowers. He keeps asking why they don't have this one or that one. I guess they will have some soon. She is getting stuff together to build one for herself as well.

Beautiful, including the snake. My DD's have been blooming for a while and I really like the flower. Unfortunately what is supposed to be my Pink Perfektion was from that scam artist seller Filthyrich so I'm sure it will just be a single pink.

Neither of mine are blooming but I have buds on Daydreams & PP is Ying. I hope all the heat doesn't make them drop. I should have cuttings to share this fall.

Mike, All your blooms(brugs & dats) are really nice.As for the snake I like him too, but I think you can keep him.LOL!

Great blooms Mike. Love the snake, I have them all over, and I never know when one will pop out and scare me to death ! You better get started potting those plants. How about if I organize a bus load to come down and help you dig and pot ?? Edna

wooo,ohhhh, meee,aweeeee....I'm speechless. Everything is doing so well and to think your going to have to dig them puppies up and move them. I just hope they don't go into shock or something. Please remember your good friend and put her at the top of the list to get cuttings.

It was really nice to see your bloom of pink perfection I was wondering if it was really that dark of pink. You sure have alot of nice looking brugs.

Mike, they're beautiful! I have tiny buds on my Day Dreams, can't wait to see blooms. I'm so glad you got to see them before the move!My datura has small light purple flowers with a dark purple throat.I'm disappointed,knowing what I could grow! Yours are beautiful!

Oh Mike, your Brug blooms are beautiful. Great job. Luv the Dats. I have some of those purple ones blooming right now and I think they are from seeds you sent, so another warm thank you hug. I have a D. Dream that's gtowing, but no where near Ying. Might hit you up for a trade on Pink Perfection come pruning time!! Thanks for the fun pictures. Gloria

Those are really beautiful Mike. I dread for you having to move all those plants. You have done a wonderful job with them. Its a nice cool day here for a change and I have to be at work. I wish I could have stayed home and worked in the yard today. Only nice day all summer boohoo.

I'd definitely prepare the holes at the new house, dig up the plants at the old house and get them right in the ground. You'll want to take up as much of the rootball as possible but you might still want to do a bit of pruning to lessen the stress. I'd also dose them with B1 and superthrive for a couple weeks after transplanting. I'd try moving some of the daturas that way as well. If it's only a 15 minute drive I think that will be easier and less stress then going from ground to pot to ground again. Good luck. They look great.
