NOID Blooming for First time

This is a cutting I got last year, a NOID. One of the very few survivors of dormancy in my basement. This is her first bloom. She has more buds..but ya know, first flower excitement, I had to share now, lol.

yeah I know I get carried away with the pix...but I love the changes..and I like to share that, so you all can see the changes as well...amazes me..the whole process..plants grow from teeny tiny seeds to beautiful big plants. buds start out tiny, grow huge, yellow before its fully open, change to white, change to pink, getting darker..it's just amazing & I love to watch it happen.

Cameras are a great thing, lol

now..off to water and fert everything..see y'all in a few hours..lol

Mo, I understand diluted urine is a very good source of nitrogen. Also, I remember reading that Americans have the most expensive pee in the world, 'cause of all the vitamin supplements we take; seems most of it goes out the other end. Huh. @oursteelers 8B PNW She’s lovely! (Your whole garden is lovely!) Thank you for the pics. I am so glad you grow VdB. I have a real fondness for her! How is her disease resistance in your neck of the PNW? @ElfRosaPNW8b That’s wonderful that you have several Bourbons, including Zeph, already! That explains how you quickly identified yours as a possible VdB. Which others do you grow? I soooo have Bourbon envy! They are a blackspotty bunch in my area, and on top of rose fungal issues, I had to remove and give away a number of bigger roses to friends. I have an autoimmune thing which limits my sunlight exposure, etc. so gardening is…interesting. I balked for several years but am now content with selecting plants carefully, growing what I have and enjoying the bountiful Bourbons and other big beauties in forum members’ gardens like yours. Someone should start a Spring 2023 Bourbon thread! :)

Dorothy, I would have, but I had company last night so I didnt get to take my normal every 10 minute pix to catch it opening & changing.
But I was out there as soon as I woke up this morn takin more pix, lol.

Collielover, I def will! LOL! I will prob post more tonight or tomorrow as she looks like she's getting darker.

Daniella you sure captured the fast changes in how the blossom changes on this gorgeous NOID! I love it and agree....the Camera's are GREAT! I mean the ones without FILM that has to be developed lol

I love the progression pix. It's fascinating to watch the flowers drop, elongate and unfold, isn't it? What do you do with your plants in the winter since you can't leave them outside in NJ?

Thanks Diane, I did have them go dormant in the basement, but I lost too many that way. I am going to try to keep them all going with lights in the basement this coming winter. DH wont be happy, lol.

Pam, thanks, her scent is like baby powder. But you cant smell her unless you get right up in her face.

Beautiful Daniella! I am glad you took the pics like you did as now I will know the progression of a bloom. Still waiting for my first bloom, but I finally have a couple of y's on one plant and one y on another. I am getting closer. I am glad to enjoy your blooms for now!
