up up....time to get moving. It will be another hot day here.

WHO o who has the perfect weather right now?

Like not to hot or cold. Not to muchm but yet enough rain not to water. Pedro visiting so you can just sit and watch him do all the work? rofl

Yesterday the Rock Rose bloomed for the first time. Kylie I sure hope I did remember the name correctly lol.

Hey Lucy, very pretty. As for weather, high predicted today to be 85. I can certainly handle that! Low possibility of severe weather (thunderstorms or tornadoes) so I might vote for Colorado as having the perfect weather, at least today. Good morning!!

Hey Lucy, I have dug up my share of rocks too! They surely do come in handy at times. I feel for you getting to enjoy the neighbors sewer. Just got rid of that problem myself. Didn't run on my side mind you however, the smell would knock you down! Glad our lots are very large! They finally had new field lines installed about 2 weeks ago. I got maybe half of my grass mowed yesterday and the storm came. It is suppose to rain again today too. I will try to mow some more after it dries up a little this morning. Maybe I can get a little more down. At least finish where people can see. haha I will just have to walk through the tall wet grass to work on my plants. I start with the last reply and work my way up again. Kristy I worked outside till little before 9pm. But I finally got the flowerbeds close to the house edged and the grass cut. The one bush trimmed because it was taking all the space and light away from the brugs growing next to it. So did you get your grass cut also? Haase I am smiling. All it takes it just that...participate and you are HOOKED lol...not just with brugs...but with US lol Barb that is awesome! I showed Alexander the bleeding heart when we were at Disney and the way he says bleeding heart...just CUTE!! So when ever he saw one, he said..look Oma, a bleeding heart. So I send him a little plant last week. By now I have it growing everywhere. But if my memory is right...Brenda???? (if it was not brenda..forgive me. It is hard to keep track unless I label them right away)send me a cutting a while back also. So not only do I have my moms growing...but from a GW friend also. Mary a smile @ ya Margaret I am crossing my fingers also that I will get lots of seeds. It germinates really great. For I have like 6 or more of them growing. Kim see it does not take a lot to be part of this great hang out we have. Rock Oak Deer, first I have to say that I really think about MY deer all the time when I see you post ha ha ha I hope you don't bite and eat all my plants roflmao I start my day with watering all the plants from about 6 am until 11 am. I would not make it if I would not water them lol Waiting for rain...gosh I would not have anything LIVING in this yard of mine. Well not quite...I do have a few drought resistant plants lol Siam collecting seeds and you are of course on my list. I meant to send some out already. Made the envelopes and sat there for 3 days organizing them...well...they are still at the house :-( Pam you betcha that I will share seeds with you when I have some!! I feel the same way. No matter how the day is going to be, I love starting it right here...and especially when I can not check in here and there during the day....no breaks ...I need the night cap with you all. April that is SO FUNNY...Guess like that Dorothy is right that it will not hurt if we ever bite roflmao I hope everyones day brought you some joy with your garden. Hugs Lucy

Hello Lucy! Beautiful Desert Rose, hope mine will bloom one day. We made it back. It was a sad but good trip. All of DH brothers and his sister made it in for the funeral. DH's brother was a member of the "Rolling Thunder" Its a motor cycle group of Vets. They lead the procession. It sure was something to see. All those bike and flags flying! Anyway Waiting to let you know we are home safe and sound. A lot to catch up on. Have not even started on the emails. LOL Big Hugs Dorothy

Thats good to know Patsy, thanks. Well John adopted it and takes it in at the shop every night so the deer don't eat it, lol. I guess I'll get to bring it home this winter. He got so many compliments on it and the orchid he won't let me have take them home, lol. Do I remember the yellow one at the zoo? No, lol. It was more than last week but I bet we can get Kylie to fight off the wild animals so we can collect seeds next time. Lol.

I rarely catch mine when in bloom. My Rock Rose flowers close up fast. Mine also get very leggy. I don't know if it's the variety or maybe the growing conditions. It's a pretty little flower. Looks a bit like a little hibiscus.

Lucy - Your rock rose looks great. I had three that did beautifully until a couple weeks ago and they just suddenly declined and now are gone. They weren't neglected. Can't figure it out except that they are a short-lived perennial.

We are getting rain here right now. With record drought and heat this year in San Antonio, rain is perfect weather!

From reading the responses...I better go learn a bit more about Rock Roses. This one has very nice branching! I sure hope it will not die :-( Especially since I moved it to a new location yesterday. Cross my fingers..hope it not to die lol

This morning it was hilarious! It sprinkled and I was watering. Glad I continued because it really were only a few sprinkles. Not even enough to cool me off.

Ok I just did a little search. Looks like mine is a Texas Rock Rose and is drought tolerant. Likes not to much watering and can be trimmed back all season long to have it grow out more bushy instead of leggy. They are hardy for your zone rock oak deer and I am not sure about my zone but I am sure if I mulch, it would come back also. But had enough search for this one for now lol

Kylie you got to come when hubby is gone next week rofl. OR I just got to go on vacation for a day lol

I will have to cut back the daily watering on that baby lol

It is wonderful to start my day with all of my gardening friends :-)
