O. T. All in day (Long)

I decided to make the rounds today.. Home Depot, Lowe's and one Nursery. I found some plants 50-70% off. I got a couple of Stromanthe TrioStar, one pond plant, two shade plants for Meilissa's Garden and some annuals. I looked down on the floor at Lowe's and saw a HUGE snail...so I got a bag and picked it up to take home to put in my small container pond. I have since read that it is not the kind that goes in ponds and will eat my pond plants. Now what do I do with it?

As I was driving into Walgreens parking lot something comes flying over at me and I thought it was a moth and tried to shoo it out the window. Well....it was actually a baby tree frog. So I tried to catch it to put in the backyard. Well he had other ideas and I didn't catch him. I was driving home from Walgreens and I feel these little feet gripping my scalp!!!!!!! Yikes! The hairs stood up on my arms! I shooed him out of my hair and haven't seen him since. I hope he got back in one of the plants and is now outside. Sooooooo....you just never know what you might be bringing home in your plants! I hope I find him so he can live with 'Buddy' my resident tree frog. Any suggestions on what to do with the huge snail?

42 Hurry-Hurry!(wishing my life away) But I am ready to start my seeds for some of my lost plants, And of course wishy washing --if there is such a word-- hoping to get lots of new plants.If I had the money I would hire a real gardener rip my flowers beds out and start brand new ones, again WISHING. Hi Y'all, Siam, I'm happy to meet you buddy...I too love Cannas, and am starting to collect a few for my tropical landscape. Ryan, ever go up to Cloudcroft? I just love it up there. My farm is very small, just over three acres, one of which I plant in different types of gourds for my glass work. I do have a large veggie garden every year though. Honeybunny2, My older sister was Miss Ft. Sam Houston in the 60's...I might of seen you in one of the Fiesta parades! T.J. I make elderberry, rhubarb, and mulberry wines. Mostly because that's what I have growing around the farm! hahahaha... Knotz, My brother Alex was at Ft. Hood for awhile. Yes, we must share photos of our work...I love your Mac work very much! Kristy, I grow a lot of gourds just to look for that special one that lends itself to my glass work. I try to grow large gourds like African Bushel, and Giant Bird House gourds, but I love all kinds of gourds and grow many different varieties. I bet the one you have is the Italian gourd...yummy when small..large...(not so much)!hahaha... Did you know you can eat Luffa gourds when small? You should E-mail me sometime, I may have seeds I can share if you wish. I have a younger sister who works for the Boerne School district. I love the Hill Country, and I spend a lot of time there when I go home to visit. Comfort, Boerne, Kerrville, Fredericksburg. In fact Sue and I plan on coming down in June so we can go to the Hanging Tree Saloon to hear the "Who'it's" play in Bracken. Maybe we can stop in and visit some of ya? Having a day to "accomplish nothing" can be quite an accomplishment! Enjoy your day. I've been flat-on-my-back (or rather, upright-in-the-recliner, gasping-for-breath) sick since Feb. 12. Today is the first day I've felt like there is hope! I was actually hungry; my ribs are not hurting so much, and I can breath. Life is good. Three bouts of antibiotics, some steroids, which I hate to take, and various breathing aids have had very little effect on this terrible bug until now. I'm accomplishing nothing, either; except checking our the KT and watching the birds at the feeders.

Carol, it seems someone must be very close to winning so if you are able to do it, I would draw some more words and post them. Just my opinion. I did take a picture of the seeds that were left once I selected some and this is before I added the packs from me. I did a rough count and think there are about 75 packs of seeds. (When I first saw it I exaggerated by saying 200 --- the envelope was thick and jam packed.) Anyway, lots of seeds and a good variety. I wrote down what I removed and will post it when I have the list in hand. You'll also see the cute card that Shirley made for me. People were very generous in adding bonus packs. The package will be going in the mail tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good week.

Seriously, since you were able to identify the snail, were you able to find any information on the snail's habitat requirements? If so, I would find a location suitable for the snail (and well away from your water plants) and release him/her.

I agree with Amelia. If you have a location nearby that has water, a pond or a stream, that would probably be an acceptable environment for a snail.

The only acceptable snail around here is the trap door kind for the pond. All others get stepped on, lol. Ask poor Lucy, I give her the willy's when I step on one. If you want to let it go take it to the park. If its a plant eating snail it will eat most plants in your yard or your pond. Can I see a pic? I love the frog hanging onto your head. I would have crashed the car, lol.

That is FUNNY!!!!!!
I know most everyone has seen this pic but I remembered it when I read about the frog on your head.. This is my GD Galaxie from about a yr ago.. We were out side and this frog landed on her head she was okay for a few min.s but once it started crawling in her hair.. not happy
she did gently remove him before she freaked and started screaming bloody murder.. Made me laugh really hard...

I agree with others the snail would just have to go to meet his maker or go to another part of town here on earth.

Amelia....You are so funny! I actually thought about taking it back but did not want to drive back there. I thought about giving it to the neighbor kids. I usually take my snake skins to them as they love that kind of stuff!
Kristy...I will try and get a pic for ya. I don't know exactly what kind of snail it is. I was surprised for such a little frog...how high and far it could jump and how much energy it had. Of course he may have been freaked out cuz he did not like my driving skills! LOL!!
Karyn, We have an edition across the street that has a huge pond built all around the neighborhood. It is a gated community and I don't know how far I can throw.... hmmm.
Will let you know what happens to him.
