Can anyone help identify this I(quite odd) strawberry thief?

Hello All!

We've been battling slugs in our strawberry patch for months and know our enemy well. But lately, we've seen the oddest thing. As we look for non-slug contaminated berries we find sections where the berries have been gathered together. We'll have 12-15 good berries piled together. But they never get eaten! Any idea what this could be?

It can't be quail. We don't have squirrels. The lizards are too small. We're stumped! (I'll try and include a photo with this post; sorry if it doesn't work, this is my first posting here).

Thanks!
