"Does anyone else worry about what it's in municipal compost or 'stolen' leaves?" Do I worry? No. Do I inspect? Yes. You never know what is going to come out of the bags. Most of the time it is good stuff, but there are definitely surprises. It is critical to dump, spread and inspect if you plan on using the lawn mower to shred. I have found large rocks, an old, metal hose spigot, a shoe and even a ceramic cereal bowl. I almost caught the spigot with the mower, I saw the glint of metal, bent down to pick it up, and low and behold it was about a half pound of mower-killing/deadly projectile metal. The weed, invasive plant thing is also important, but not so much. I have on occasion dumped a bag only to pick it right back up and put it into my trash can to go right back to the curb. I might start burning bad stuff so I can have the ash. I do think that it is an advantage to gather your own leaves and make compost from it, that way everything that goes into your compost pile goes in while it is still identifiable. Municipal compost is a mixture of non-recognizable matter. That is a little riskier.

Thanks Justin! So no oxypetallum this year? That's a shame. I can live with the selection. If you ever want to expand the Rhipsalis, monacantha, micrantha, or paradoxa would be an excellent addition though as they are fast growing and very different compared to those listed. They also don't break as much as the aporocactus or capilliformis. Someone posted on one of the epi facebook pages that they bought Rhipsalis capilliformis this week. I am still looking for Epiphyllum guatemalense monstrose. Hopefully this summer I can find a large one.

Some questions to aid clarity. Is this definitely being sold as an edible fruit bush? That has been the assumption so far but do we know for certain? We also don't know where in the world the plant was seen. And finally OP says these are not their photos. If so where do they come from and do they definitely show the same plant that the OP saw?
