Who Am I? Plant IDs

Both of these have defied my searches through PLANTS. If anyone has leads or positive IDs, I would be grateful.

This plant grows in my garden, but I've seen it several other places, including Columbus, OH. As you can see, it's a good Cabbage White attractor, and also gets skipper hits as well. Square stem, opposite, linear, rough-textured leaves. Flowers are purple and tubular like mints, but with 5 regular small petals. Flowers from July to August, at least.

This plant has a flower identical to the picture on the front of my wildflower field guide! But the plant they describe for it, Beach Heather, grows on beaches in the sand and blooms one day out of the year. Nope.

Any ideas?

I think the first one is verbena brasiliensis, Jeff, but it's a little bit hard for me to see the flower.
The second one is one of the St. John's worts, I'll guess hypericum denticulatum or h. punctatum, but there are lots of them, all looking very similar.

The first is definitiely Verbena bonareinsis, I've also heard it called Verbena on a stick. I grow a lot of it. It's a great nectar plant.

It's not tinda, sorry. Tinda is a kind of watermelon, actually, that is used as a summer squash, more or less. I think what you have is some kind of wild lettuce or sow thistle. Just a weed, I'm afraid. I ordered my Tinda seeds from Seeds of India.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the input... I'm totally baffled by this one... it came from an obscure nursery in Michigan (near hubby's folks house), and they had a whole shelf of these that all (at the time) looked solid green, all labeled as Lacy Belle. I will keep an eye on this one, and note any changes... and like Josh said, the center will probably green up. At least I can enjoy the show, while it lasts?? And Ken is right, guess I can throw that tag away, it's definitely NOT Lacy Belle, as the tag says. Guess I've got another "unknown..." And I've learned a lesson about going "impromptu" hosta shopping without my hosta book that has all the pictures/descriptions... Grrr... Thanks again, Buff P.S. If anyone has any other "bright ideas" on what hosta this could be, please feel free to chime in!! All ideas are much appreciated :-)

Thank you. Actually sounds like the kind of plant I would have planted and completely forgot about. May try to find a better spot for it instead of passing it along. Has anyone used it medicinally (and how)?
