Name That Plant!

Please help ID a plant I am getting rid of

Finally dug it up from my back garden. Kept coming up (perennial) every year - never really made an effort to get rid of it, but space is at a premium so I can't keep something I am iffy about. I'm not even sure I put it there! But in any case, would be nice to know the ID if I give it away. Thanks!

I believe your plant is feverfew (tanacetum parthenium).

I agree. I always allow a few plants to remain. It has medicinal properties and is attractive to pollinators.

My first suggestion would be hydrogen peroxide. Get the topical strength (3%) from the walmart pharmacy section, should be able to find it already in a handy spray bottle. Just spray it on the plant directly, no need to mix or water it down. Even young seedlings can withstand up to about 10% concentration of H2O2, but it will kill molds and fungi quite readily.

There's no rule saying you can't mix vegetables and ornamentals in the same garden. Furthermore, some gardeners line out ornamentals in the vegetable garden while they bulk up or until space becomes available elsewhere. Providing each has sufficient space and ornamentals do not interfere with cultivation and harvesting there is no problem.

The roots would probably appreciate a light cover of soil, compost, or organic mulch add on top. Daylilies don't naturally grow exposed to air like this and while they may well survive, they won't be at their best.

Thank you. Actually sounds like the kind of plant I would have planted and completely forgot about. May try to find a better spot for it instead of passing it along. Has anyone used it medicinally (and how)?

A few leaves in a sandwich for a headache. (This is from a friend. I've not tried it because I've rarely ever had a headache.)
