The third one is a type of artemesia, the fourth is a sweet pea and the fifth looks like lily of the valley to me. anybody agree?

1. possibly a white Veronica spicata but this one is puzzling me a bit...
2. I'd guess Heliopsis helianthoides...does it bloom with yellow daisies later on?
3. an artemesia
4. a native vetch or vetchling (Lathyrus sp.), probably not planted intentionally; same family as "sweet pea" though
5. lily of the valley
6. goldenrod (Solidago sp.)

If the first one smells like mint, I would guess it is a mint. Mint has flowers like those in the picture and would be in flower now. If so, I wouldn't take any of that unless you have a plan to contain it. I grow mint in a sunken container and I always cut it back as soon as it displays any flower buds.

1. Mint - as lisa03 says, grow it in a sunken pot. You will be giving it away soon too!
2. see what the others say, I don't recognize it.
3. artemisia - does well in dry areas, not fond of wet soil. Can be invasive
4. sweet pea - in the right conditions, it can take over. Best grown on a trellis in a fairly open area, where it cannot attach to other plants. Mine is currently hanging off my clematis - LOL. Self-seeding if you let the pods ripen and split.
5. Lily of the valley - one of my favorite flowers. Can be invasive but has the most fragrant flowers in May!!
6. Goldenrod. Some consider it a weed and think it aggravates allergies.

The mint 'bush' was huge, so I can see it taking over a garden. Looks like this poor garden has been neglected for years and things just got out of control. I'll plant the mint in a pot as suggested, find a shady corner for the lily of the valley plants and skip the goldenrod and sweetpea.

I think the second one is a weigela, a shrub, probibly flowered earlier in the season. What do you think?

Oh, don't skip the goldenrod, it's a myth that people can be allergic to them, that's ragweed that blooms at the same time. It's a wonderful late season bloomer!

The first one is a gooseneck flower, spred quite fast but you can pull it out very easily, not sure about the second one, third looks like artemesia, number four is sweat pea, number six is lily of the valley and the last one is probably a perenial aster

I would say 2 is wageilia with red flowers in spring.
3 is Snow in summer, white little flowers in spring.
4 is Sweet peas, very fragrant and a butterfly attractor
5 is Lily of the Valley

You seem to have got most of these answers but some confirmation shouldn't hurt, right?

I don't think the second one is weigelia - this one has too many straight up-and-down stalks, doesn't appear to be a shrub. (sorry to be so technical LOL)
Weigelia has a more V shaped growth habit with arching woody stems, especially if it's been there for a while.

Most of these prefer a sandy dry soil and aren't hard to take care of but some of them you may want to consider.
