Mentha, Ugly little things aren't they. Never even thought of mealy's. I can use alcohol and then I plan on repotting and cleaning the roots to make sure.
The good thing is mealies are much easier to kill than scale. You just have to be sure to get into all the crooks and curves really well and be persistant. Check them every three days or so for new crawlies. Another thing I've found to work is a bit more unconventional is fly spray for horses, especially Bronco brand in the white bottle. Mealies hate it and will crawl off your plant in no time flat. I've never seen it harm a plant either.
