Here are three pictures from this afternoon. The small leaf in the container must be a newly dropped one some time today. I am in central WI. Our weather this week looks to range from 82F-88F with majority of days on the lower end. The lows are in the mid 60s. I will note that I do not think the tree has grown. At least there appears to be no new buds. I've had it for just over 3 weeks now. Note: I removed the stake once and the tree was angled about 45 degrees when I went out to look at it one day. pots too hot!!!!!!!! mulch the top and cover the pot with aluminum foil or better yet bury the pot. black plastic in the sun is a death wish for fig trees. also the older your tree gets the more root bound it will become so upgrading you pot wouldn't hurt. once your tree gets so large ie 1ft per 1 gallon you'll need to root prune in the winter unless you keep going larger and larger on the pot then health becomes a factor are you physical able to move a 200 or 300 lb tree? the more root bound the tree is the more it will suffer from heat damage as the pot heats up. It's true figs love heat but the roots seek out cold dark damp places like under a house or any other structures. fertilizer won't help, and you shouldn't even use much nitrogen if any if trying to leave the plant in a pot it's whole life. a granulated bulb food works but anything with low N and high P & K works well for potted plants. Organics in pots just don't work well and I'm an organic nut. to move product yes it's possible but to sustain a plant in a pot over a long period forget about it. it's too hard to regulate the temps of the pots above ground to sustain microbial life in the pots. So in pots commercial nutes are the way to go. here in SC I have plants in 1-5 gallon pots and in ground the potted plants will be put in ground, traded, or sold. I have no intentions on growing figs in pots because of the hassle that comes with older larger trees. there are varieties that will grow in ground in zone 6b with limited protection you should try some of these varieties in ground unless you are ready to fight an uphill battle your whole life because the tree will outlive you if you keep it healthy. good luck

Graham, That really stinks that you can't put it outside..I can imagine you wanting to for sure. You are trying your best. I would say you are getting the reverse effect of a lack of DIRECT sunlight. Is the sun way above the window at this angle giving that tree just sunlight, not direct sun? If anything, if that tree can hang on another month or two, which it just might as long as you watch your watering habits and that mix is porous, it will probably actively start growing once the sun dips below the top of your window and start shining directly in it as the sun angle lowers... That is exactly what use to happen to my sisters when she had to keep hers inside all summer. Please, keep us update, As long as the roots are ok, it might have a chance. I just hope the roots will survive long enough without leaves to help them along. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya.

Tropicofcancer, ok would horticultural oil have the same effect as the 3 in 1 organocide? You say its lighter so can that possibly mean less damage on the pests and they can possibly survive it? Also when you say alcohol, is it rubbing alcohol? I used a cylindrical tupperware and filled it with fir reptibark 5 times and then dumped in trash bag, then filled with sphagnum peat moss once then dumped in trash bag, then filled with perlite once then dumped in trash bag, then applied one teaspoon?(I forgot how much) garden lime and then mixed it all up in the trash bag. I repeated this same exact process until it filled the pot up where the citrus went in. During spring and summer I watered about once a week. I check the soil moisture by sticking my finger in as deep as I can and only water if its dry. It had super rocket fast drainage so no issues there. I am 100% sure I used the right dosage for it. It happened about 2 weeks after I sprayed it though. I don't have a greenhouse. I only sprayed this on my 3 citrus and thats it. I also sprayed it on my sedum which is planted outdoors. No problems there. What is safers soap?
