Mom is fine she had some drug reaction..seems we have it all straighten out..It was nice to be able to spend a couple of weeks with her but damn happy to be home..I have a computer again!!! YAAAY!!!!

Burpee Laurentia (not hybrid) was a major disappointment for me last year. Sowed at the end of January, and they got HUGE inside, but there wasn't any flowers until August! I'm going to try just a couple of hybrid Laurentia Avant Garde, and then if they don't pan out, I'm writing them off! New for sowing indoors: Wahlenbergia Undulata (Rockbell), Ruellia (mexican Petunia), and Calibrachoa, orange. The Calibrachoa actually had a few seedpods, but I hear they are typically sterile, and any seeds should revert back to the original petunia form, but I'm gonna try them anyways. Any exotic growers out there?

Yes,our sunshine is back.Kylie I am so glad things are going well,still holding your sister in our prayers,Chemo is rough but she is a trooper she will be fine,it can have effects for up to two to three years on the immune system,so she will have to be careful about people she is around.Sooo glad you are back.Missed you bunches.Hugs to you. Reading your post brought me back to a difficult several years in my life. Everything took a back seat while family illness and death took over. I needed to reshuffle everything I considered important in my life, and gardening just didn't seem that important anymore. I, like you, felt that I was FAILING! What I am trying to say is that it may be your time to reshuffle your priorities. If you have gone back to work and will not have summers off, then maybe you want to give some thought as to how much time you can realistically spend on your garden. That way you can perhaps not feel so overwhelmed. Decide what brings you the greatest joy---having a well tended garden; acquiring new hostas, etc? Also, do you have a young person who can do some weeding for you for a few bucks? That way you could get your weeding done faster and be happier with your garden. I think you are just in the "readjustment" period when you need to prioritize and reshuffle your time due to your going back to work. I believe that you will find and do what is right for you. Kylie, glad to hear your mom is on the mend. She looks so content in her new porch, surrounded by all that love!

Thanks El and Brenda! I updated her porch for her so she could still have her plants but not all of the work it takes in the heat..Plenty for her to keep up with she is 80..

Brenda I will get some postage sent your way ..Thanks for the seed! I have lost most all of my new seedlings just from being out of town.. BUT my Momma comes first!!!

Kylie, what a fantastic porch! I could see myself sitting out there early in the AM with a cup of coffee and later in the PM with a glass of wine :-) God bless your mom; mine is 83 and I will soon go visit her.

That is a beautiful porch and your mom is a lovely woman. I love that purple plant stand and the rose colored step stool! Did you do the tile too? I love those black tiles on the white brick! I can't get over how huge the porch is!
