PV cats

I planted a Dutchman's Pipevine a couple years ago on the off chance we ever got the Pipevine swallowtail. I'm deep in the middle of the city on the edge of its range, so it was a very off chance. However, yesterday I glanced at my vine and it looked like a hoard of locusts had descended upon it. Figuring that there was no way grasshoppers could do that amount of damage, I checked the leaves and found three PV cats. I've never seen them around here, so I got pretty excited.

They're inside, now, quickly defoliating the leaves I've provided them. Two of them are very tame and don't mind being handled; the other one is more aggressive and I don't bother him.

Here're a couple pics:

Note that my finger is around three inches long.

I'm going to plant two more vines this fall. Now that I know they do show up around here, I want plenty of food for the PVcats.
