Karyn I posted three minutes before you..I agree this bites...Al did put the back up in last night to keep them at 50 but the ones I had planted got tore up from the winds blowing the tarp around...I think I will crochet today..No plants! :) Good luck tonight I hope it goes better for you than me....

The weather IS crazy! It got THAT cold here today, that I had to get out my warm featherbed when I took my nap. It was 68 Degrees in the house.

Frost warning here to. The Brugs have been out now for 2 weeks, under their usual Maple tree and been safe, Axel Rose and Maya even have blooms but everything else is back in nest to a heater for a few nights here and I have yet to plant a single seed in the veggie garden Karyn. {{gwi:489028}}

I don't think it got that cold last night and everything looks ok. I hope that nobody else had any damage. I even have a bud on Inca Sun. Shawn I think you gave that to me?

I have been fighting the moles, and wind. Still no rain. I think its been 14 months since we have had a good rain. I finally put out mole bait, I hope it works. Barbra,

I'm glad nothing seems harmed. I haven't uncovered my stuff yet. I only have 2 brugs in the ground, and they aren't leafed out yet. I covered my hostas to make sure they didn't get damaged.
I think I sent you the inca sun. You should get that nice orange color since the weather has been kind of cool. How big is the bud?

It's only a couple inches. The plant's only about a foot tall. lol

It took 3 of us 2 1/2 hours to get them all in. It got to 35. I can't get into my dining room at all & the porch is full too. The Voodoo bulbs are blooming & are on the back porch. I get to smell their "lovely perfume" every time I let the dogs in & out. Yuck! I'm sitting them outside until tonight. I had their box at the other end of the yard because there are about 8 of them blooming now & they were really covered with flies. It looked like a scene from the Exorcist or the Amityville Horror. LOL Another possible freeze tonight & then out they go. Next year I am stuffing them all in huge Rubbermaid tubs to make this sort of thing easier.

Lucy, I WISH my house was 68. it still refuses to rise above like, 63 in here. with the exception of that day or two in the 90s in april, I haven't been warm since last september >::

Glad you were spared, I was too so threw in some seed potatoes, 2 types of corn and 2 kinds of tomatoes that were trying to walk out of the GH on me.

I hate slugs and snails. They are eating my whole garden. That and every other kind of bug you can think of on the brugs. Its going to be pesticide city if I don't start seeing some of those lady bugs I released chomping down soon.

good news is for my yard and the bad bugs....yesterday I looked and looked at one leaf and tried to figure out WHAT it was. A stick...or WHAT? FINALLY it clicked! It was the smallest baby praying mantis I have seen so far!! Of course I did not think of getting the camera :-(

It's was 39 here this morning. Those lovely slugs, they are eating the leaves off of everything here too. I have also seen a bunch of lovely earwigs. They just love this wet weather we have had. Not complaining about the rain as we are now out of the drought Thank God and I am so glad!

I am going to throw a party for the slugs this evening. I'm bringing the beer and snail bait. haha

The slugs are so bad here but I don't want to use bait because I don't want to kill the snails. The snails are beautiful and really don't eat that much. I think I accidently introduced the snails into this area because I've never seen them anywhere but my yard and my neighbor's because she thought they were pretty and took a few. They are beautiful with yellow shells that have brown and black swirls. I won't use beer because I don't want to dispose of a dish of dead bloated slugs.

Well with all my bellyaching about the weather, it's completely turned recently. Today we expect to reach 90, I've turned off the furnace, and am sleeping with the windows open. The houseplants that I put outside all have sunburned leaves and will just have to work on putting out new ones now. It's just amazing how the weather can be so completely different from region to region in this big country of ours. Keep your chins up, summer is almost here!!
