She tied the adults in the fishing contest today and won first in the kids competition. She made me so proud!

Hi ngraham, thanks you so much. I just started quilting last January, but I have sewn for years. Nancy, the new sewing machine made the quilting so much more fun. ..and much easier. Jean, you shouldn't forget a quilt! Thanks Julia, the pink and green fairy quilt went through several greens before I was happy...which mean I have a nice supply of green in my stash. Celeste, the artist in you shows in your garden. I, too, have painted, and always loved to draw, so the blocks in the ladybug quilt were a lot of fun to design. I hope the little one who got it loves it, since she loves ladybugs, it's a good bet that she will. I am in the process of designing and quilting an owl quilt which my Daughter-in-law is law has called dibs on, but I am making it for a grand-daughter, so being in the family is no guarantee of getting the one you want. It is much more involved that the ladybug quilt, and I doubt I have it in me to make two of them. kay

i love to watch the hummingbirds, have ya'll checked out the hummingbird forum?? there's a guy over there who made an awesome, really awesome hummingbird feeder!! and he's a farm boy!! LOL he posted a bunch of video's for talla to see, that was so sweet!! she had to see every single one of them!! no stinking kidding!! LOL i put the link here for ya all to look at!! i want one sooo bad!! now that, i can't do just yet!! i'm so involved in this fixing/cleaning up this contraption, LOL one room down, no two rooms down, 5 more to go.!!! yeeee HAWWWWW LOL grant told me there is no way that my gh is level!!! he said what in the world makes me think its level?? i said the leveler does!! he said, there is no way its level!!! i said, dude that leveler said it is, i did that level at every single "intersection" and it leveled out. on all 4 sides. it just looks funny because of the ground. errr!! MEN!!! go and mess up my plan!! LOL it must be that dang thyroid. that's what i'm gonna lay it on!! i need to vent!! that's it!! LOL he's getting that thing radiated and gone- assuming it will take the dye?? something like that. LOL we have something like 5 more weeks to wait to find out. its going to be a long wait and fighting. i can feel it. ok, i'm don'e. we did find a pair of jeans for talla that she likes!! now lets see if she will actually wear them@! LOL they do have butterfly's on them!! LOL we didn't find anything for him though he's pretty picky. i said well, honey, you are always working anyhow, so i guess, thats alright. Karen, Zane is so cute! I love it that he is part of the National Honor Society! That shows he's putting forth some effort and it should pay off in the end. No one can escape the worry with teenage drivers. Can only pray for the best! We just lost a dear one who was 26 and fell asleep @ the wheel.sigh DD and family flew out to Disney World today. When she returns she is going to take more clases @ the U. She can't get enough! Her dream is still to become a doctor. I pray that dream comes true for her. She works so hard and is always going back for more education. We get DGD so works great for us too. Punk

Thanks all! I let little man read all your comments this morning. He was blushing and saying to himself, "I didn't cook this all by myself and I am not that good looking..." but I saw the sparks in his eyes and knew he secretly enjoyed the nice compliments. LOL I want to take advantage of his new found interest and run with it. We have decided that he would continue to make breakfast for his dad when he feels like it then dinner once a week, mostly Sunday. If he's up to it, maybe one easy dessert during the week. I got hubby hooked on bread making and now little man cooking, think I am ready to retire! LOL Pat, I guess the Xpress is sort of like a grill with much less capacity. We like it because it's small and very portable, just about the right size for a 7-year-old to handle. Karen, thanks for the link again. We have it bookmarked and have been checking it from time to time. We haven't tried out any of their recipes yet but I am sure we soon will. Rusty, I believe you're right about soda crackers = saltine crackers. Here in Canada (at least the part where we live) soda cracker is an ethnic food that has a different look and taste. They are bigger, fluffier and have no salt on the surface. The recipe definitely calls for saltine crackers because when little man finished crushing the crumbs, it turned out just the right amount. If we had used the "soda crackers" found in the Asian store, we would end up having way too much crumbs. Chase, I noticed the difference too! LOL Thanks again everyone. Your comments definitely reassure his positive experience at first attempt. I greatly appreciate it.

Wow, what a great catch! She is so pretty and I love the smile on her face. Kristy in case your DD doesn't get into gardening, maybe she will end up marrying a guy with a great garden, LOL!

I had the joy of spending time with my youngest daughter this WE too. She LOVED the warm weather and made me wash her wintercoat before she went back on her way to PA now.

They are hybrids. Striped bass X white bass. They get huge, lol. Patty and Albert you both need to get with us for a fishing trip. Daughter has taken over the computer and hers is still not repaired so between her and work I haven't gotten to get on much, lol. Having a good time with her though. Ate fish 3 days in a row. Got some great seasoning from John's sister with all sorts of herbs and spices that I put on the fish with melted butter and fresh lemon slices. Soooo good! Patty got any more lemons? Lol.

What a great fishing day. Congratulations to your daughter. I would love a new spice for fish. Hybrids are such bull dogs that pull real hard. Mighty tasty.....

Thanks, you gotta come up sometime and go with us. Now til the beginning of June is the best time to catch the big ones. The seasoning is called island seasoning. The website is www.kauaimermaid.com good stuff. Used a different kind tonight with smoked hawaiian salt but like the other better. The seasoning in it was perfect flavor for fish. I am tired of eating fish now for a while, lol. Too many days in a row, lol. John could eat it every night.

I'm going to check and see if she can ship me a box of it so don't buy any yet. Will be cheaper to get a bunch in a flat rate box.
