If it is a new transplant disregard the rest. I just had a decade old Acer palmatum die on me. Well 99%, it does have a sucker sprout but we're not going to wait for it to die. My ordeal: -looked good last year through the heat and drought. -leafed out this year. -seemed to have some dead stems I blamed on a late freeze but overall looked pretty good. -leaves began dying a branch at a time and sticking to the tree. -found some dark streaks in the wood when cut -now it is all dead. Your plants look generally healthy - especially compared to some I have seen growing in these things lately as part of our Master Gardener program. Our group is circulating a petition to ban them. ;) What you have primarily is aphids and what is called "Tomato leaf roll" (you can Google that term). It is just a physiological response of the plant to stress. ID the cause of the stress and the problem goes away - many discussions here about it. In your case it could be the planter, over-crowding (how many plants are in that 1 bag), too much water ( most common cause), overfeeding, or the aphids you have, or etc. Aphids can be blasted off with plain water but are attracted to excess nitrogen so cut back on the feeding - try using 1/4 strength once a week for a bit and see how that does. Cut back on watering. Use your finger - stick in deep into the soil (if you can) to check for the need to water. Plants can tolerate too little water better than the can too much water. Remove the damaged leaves - they are just environmental damage. For future reference please know that there are going to be problems with this set-up despite all the glorious claims made in the ads. It is far from ideal for several reasons, most importantly not nearly enough soil for more than 1 plant and yours appears to be VERY heavily planted so you will need to monitor your feeding, watering, and pest control religiously. I'd also suggest you give some consideration to doing some pruning - and I hate suggesting that but it does seem to help with these things - on the plants to increase their odds of survival. Dave

Mark, where do you live? I have tons of dragonfruit plants started from seeds..around a foot tall now and from my one year old plants. They are over the 6 ft. Trellis and growing like crazy!! I have 12 varieties and will send you some of them. I live in Florida. Just remember that it may take 6 years to get fruit from seeds and one to two years from cuttings! Big difference!

Likely if you eat tomatoes from the store they are production tomatoes. 1. They won't have the taste like a good gardener hybrid or heirloom tomato (in other word they tastes like cardboard). 2. They are hybrid, when you replant a seed from a hybrid plant, it won't be exactly like the original plant, it will have different characteristic and may not taste as good or have desired traits. I would rather order some seeds online and grow some dwarf tomato instead. If you intend to grow indoor you will need some good lighting and space. Something like this is minimum I would recommend for full size tomato indoor: https://www.1000bulbs.com/product/8256/FC105-S50OD.htm. So as you can see, tomato need lots of light which isn't not going to work in a single room dorm. Not only that, they need lots of soil, at least a 5 gallon container. So it's better off growing something like lettuce or basil indoor, or look for a dwarf or microdwarf tomato variety. Some variety to consider are: Red Robin, Tiny Tim, Silvery Fire Tree. For indoor potting soil, make sure you ask question and find the right potting soil that does not smell and perhaps pasteurized for indoor use, otherwise it will be an unpleasant experience. I don't buy potting soil, but I know "FoxFarm's Potting Soil" have good reputation so you may want to check them out, but I don't know how it'll smell. In my bedrooom I have an "AeroGarden Extra LED" that let me grow vegetable hydroponically, and it's LED light is bright enough to provide light for some extra plants in smaller container next to it. It is full spectrum and would be adequate for small dwarf tomatoes. It have a timer and shuts off after 12-16 hours. It is also very easy to make your own affordable indoor hydroponic setup. However, considering you live in a dorm, I don't know if you may have issues with campus authority who will be concerned with cannabis growing which is quite popular with hydroponic growing (not that I'm trying to give an idea).
