Ron is one of my favorite Ebay sellers. His plants are always healthy and a decent size for the price. I got my Miner's Claim from him and only paid about $10. My Candy Corn vine (Manettia inflata), from Ron also, froze in the GH last month. I cut it back but don't know if it will return from the roots or not. I'm at a swim meet in Delaware this weekend but found out that Pepper's Greenhouse is very close to the hotel so I'm going tomorrow. They have Candy Corn vines on their site and I will get another if they have them in stock. I've never tried taking cuttings but will be happy to send you a piece when it warms up. I can't wait to go to Pepper's. I've ordered from their online catalog but have never been to their greenhouse. I'm glad we don't have much luggage in the car! lol Karyn

I agree with karyn1 that you will have a better chance after any frost has passed. It seems that marsh type plants (ones that live in water) don't need as much sunlight as soil terestrial plants. I am posting an old yet informative link from the botany forum that has a lot of good Q&A and another link on the subject of water rooting plants vs soil. I really don't let my brugs get long water roots anymore. It was fun to do at first because it is fun to watch them grow. Now I just let them get nubbbies then pot them up in well drained soil. Place under grow lights (or sunny window), on a heat mat, and water alot at first then slowly back off. Misting the leaves seems to help alot too. Cherry: I'm trying Brugs in Illinois, now. Something else someone mentioned  and IÂm annoyed with myself. The color of the pot above ground makes a difference, too. I outsmarted myself. I bought large green plastic pots, 10+ gallon - so when I sunk them in the ground next year, they would semi blend in with the lawn. Only a green lip or edge showing. Right now, theyÂre above ground  and I have to tell you, those pots on the leading edge of the sun track get really warm. The green just sucks up the heat. (grr) IÂve taken to making sure I hit the pot on the outside with some water on our 90+ days here. My hope is that when I put them in the ground, this issue will go away. Some of the pots are too large to "double" pot. Some of the smaller ones, IÂm going to try another suggestion I saw here  double pot above ground. One pot inside a larger pot  fill the gap with something that will hold moisture (not for the plant) and allow the interior pot to remain cooler. That way, at 87+ - the roots wonÂt get baked. I was looking for someone who had tried this  IÂm going to give it a shot. Good luck!

Lol, poor Daniella. Ask him if he will do my laundry too. I throw it all in together and everything looks like crap, lol. I was telling John about this and he said ohhh good idea about the pots and the roots now that winter is coming he is wanting to bring in more of them so he is liking the idea of burying the pots in the ground then lifting the pots for the winter. He forgets before we did all these flower beds and I told him about this he told me I was crazy and why would I want to dig a hole and buy a pot. Just put the dang things in the ground and leave them there he said, lol. How soon he forgets now that he is getting excited that they are going to start blooming, lol. I bet we have sunken pots next year, lol. The one I had last year bloomed in the garage nearly all winter long. I think he is remembering that and realizing all those in the ground are going to have to be cut down and he will miss them blooming. Who wants to make a bet he digs up some of his to bring in the house instead of cutting them, lol.
