I'm starting to see a few buds that seem to be sizing up.... still a long way from blooming but i have hope! I removed the drip line and am allowing the soil to dry out a bit. It's got to be either that or too big a jolt of fertilizer on the plant shocking it. I hope it recovers! I hope it's ok if I post another picture, I know sometimes it can be annoying if your internet connection is slow..... This is the latest photo. I know, I know, there's still some water out of the bottom, but it's drying out. It has grown alot, the top three leaves of the unruly rubber tree are new and the asparagus fern is onto the concrete now. Winter should nip their colonizing ways! My mom is the source of the R.tree, she's such a sucker for a homeless plant and tries to save all the prunings she gets, unfortunately they all root! I said I was going to leave this one out to freeze, but now I'm not so sure. I read the post on fushia cuttings. I may try a couple myself now that the plant isn't blooming and take them in for the winter instead of the RT.

Sometimes Meyers can get into a habit of bi-annual fruit production. Which means it puts out tons of fruit one year, but the next year it then needs to "rest" and puts out very little fruit. Best way to stop this is to thin the amount of fruit on the heavy year when they're about dime sized. Take off at least half on the heavy year. It should even out after a couple seasons. Two other things, first Meyers are heavy feeders, more than other citrus. I'd feed it at least every other month.Post the NPK (the 3 numbers with hyphens between them, like 1-1-1 ) and the ingredients and we'll let you know if it's good for citrus. Second, if you have any grass under the tree, it must be removed. The grass will snatch up the fertilizer faster than that tree and leave the tree with not enough. And some think it gives off something that will inhibit the tree, but the fertilizer issue is reason enough. Don't pull it out though, as the citrus roots are shallow and that could damage it. Put down a thick cloth like burlap and then put mulch like shredded bark over that. It will block the light from the grass and kill it while being fine for the tree. Remember to keep the cloth/mulch away from the tree bark by about 4-6 inches, to keep the tree bark from staying too damp. Many lemons get a purple color on flower buds and new leaves. It's a good sign and means you are fertilizing enough. Your Meyer should have purple too, if it doesn't then it does need more food too.

That was last year. when I picked flowers- it was first year the apricot was flowering... I never did it for my peach tree and it is doing fine... Though looks like this year no flowers on it as well(... First year out of 7 I have it it doesn't flower...
