Winter Sowing Heucheras

sambal

HI. I have alot of dust-fine heuchera seeds from the plants that set seed last summer. I tried my hand at hybridizing some of these, although I do think the bees got to them alot earlier than I did. Here, in zone 8, Seattle, the heucheras remain evergreen all year...they all kind of droop on the soil, but keep their leaves. Anyway, I have never done any winter sowing before...only winter sowing indoors under lights, and I notice that one book said to 'sow seed in autumn or....early spring'. I'm thinking that anything that can be sowed in Autumn, can also be winter sowed? Thanks! SAM
