one on left is Aloe hemmingii, not harlana. One on right could be a hybrid of Aloe variegata... or be Aloe variegata.

A. hemmingii is often sold as the rarer A. harlana. Altman's Plants, which supplies my Lowe's, does this. From what I have seen, A. harlana gets much bigger, and does not usually grow offsets, unlike hemmingii. A. hemmingii is a beautiful plant, and to my surprise, mine sent up a flower spike a short while ago, and the flowers will be pink when they open.

The left Aloe is exactly as kaktuskris says, Altman's plant from Lowe's, sold as A. harlana. Does okay in less sun?

The right chubby fat Aloe does look like some pics of Variegata. Probably plants outside have brighter white markings. The flower looks really cool.

Aloe hemmingii is a very adaptable plant... can take full sun in most climates (not sure about Tuscon) and takes fairly deep shade, too, though more prone to rot and disfigurment from etiolation in shade. Colors nicer in sun, though.

right looks like A. variegata grown in rich conditions. Do not overwater.
