Comments (4)That depends on what kind of Foxglove you bought. What does your tag say? Digitalis purpurea is a biennial foxglove, that produces a rosette of basal leaves the first year, then sends flower spikes up the 2nd year. Then it usually dies back, but sometimes it will bloom a bit a 3rd year, especially if you deadhead the spent blooms and don't allow it to go to seed. Digitalis grandiflora is a perennial foxglove and usually has light yellow flowers. Digitalis x mertonensis is a hybrid between the two and is a short-lived perennial, and may bloom for 2 or 3 years. If you have the Digitalis purpurea, does it look like it already formed flower spikes? If so, then it has bloomed already and is unlikely to bloom again. It forms big clumps of leaves the first year that look like this picture, so if it looks like this then it is going to bloom next year (usually in June)....See MoreMy first ever hollyhock
Comments (11)Isn't Mother Nature wonderful? Generous to a fault. Always some surprises up her sleeves no matter how long you've been gardening. Healing you when your heart hurts. And... occasionally... leveling the playing field when someone thought they were 'winning'. Vacuuming up hh seeds! I had to smile, I think you really meant that! Well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. It'd be nice if we could eat all we yank out but we can't. I swear - I think I'm gonna dream of you in the garden with the shop vac tonight, hee hee! GH-...See MorePlant Reccomendations Please
Comments (15)King's Mantle is amazingly beautiful and carefree! Brazilian Sky Flower is a huge vine but wow! Purple fire spike. Costus amazonicus has the best varigated leaves. Iceberg rose blooms so very much, and smells like honey. Any of the butterfly type hedychiums. A whole list of kaempheria, but especially shazzam, white diamonds and raven. My white noid brugmansia. Alma fig (Ok, not colorful, but tasty! Very tasty!) Varigated Myers lemon. All the walking Irises, but especially the blue Neomerica gracilis. These are usually the first plants I give to people, if they don't have them. They share easilly and are so beautiful. Ti/Cordyline miss andrea, which looks like it's been hand painted. The big puffy pink Justica "Flamingo Flower" and it's big puffy orange cousin. Brugmansia frosty pink. Pink bush morning glory. Lots of these are easy pass along plants, and I'm a Tampa girl. Come get an arm load of cuttings....See Morepoetmama
