Spicebush Swallowtail Cats on Spicebush!

As you may remember, spicebush swallowtails use sassafras in my area. I planted a spicebush/lindera benzoin last fall and haven't found any caterpillars on it until today - I found two, apparently fairly late instar cats. I can't decide whether or not to bring these into a cage and raise them myself. The bush is real small, and I don't know how long the leaves will hold out. I guess I could offer them sassafras leaves if I run out or other types of spicebush that I'm trying - my lindera praecox is pretty big. I just talked myself into it - I think they'll be better off with me raising them.

Here's a picture looking down into one of the leaf rolls - you can see the cat's mouth area.
