Got my other blog up now...

Okay, I finally got my other butterfly blog up and running now. :) It isn't nearly as detailed, as of yet, as my Monarch one but I do have some good in (I think!) thus far. I took some photos of some Cabbage White larvae today so that is my next 'mission' for the blog. My plan is to get some other butterflies on there so that when people have questions then hopefully, some of those questions can be answered. :) For example, someone had a question about Giant Swallowtails today. I added info about them then went back and added more pictures. I figured that having an ongoing blog (easier for me than a true website) would be much better than constantly writing the same answers over and over.

I did go and re-do my Monarch blog as well, not that long ago. I felt it was a bit difficult to wade through so it is a little easier. I also cleaned up some stuff.

Thank goodness I have this week off for Spring Break! :)

Let me know what you think. I am always (and I mean ALWAYS) looking for feedback and ideas on what to include/exclude.

WOW, is all I can say. Thank you so much. I got lots of helpful information from your new blog. I had read the other one at least three times, thoroughly, for all details. This one helped me with the other species, which really interest me. I especially liked the well-labeled pictures, and the way the detailed information in the text worked with the pictures and labels. It will definitely make a difference in my gardening this year.

Congrats on your new blog, and thank you for your contributions to all of us BFers. I will be sharing both of your blogs as I speak to second graders at a local school here on May 2nd. The speaking business is picking up momentum! I hope to have some little friends to share by that time.

Today is cold and we keep getting horrendous storms coming through every few days. So, it is slowing things down a bit, but at least we haven't had a late freeze. I envy you in zone 9 that have year round BFs.

I see it! I see it! Here! IÂm sending it back out your way! Catch! ItÂs been a HOT summerÂand the heat started early! I think there may be a lot of folks looking for their get-up-and-go! Since weÂre having a couple cooler days here in metro Denver, IÂm making myself get some things done. Started pruning my beloved juniper yesterday. The heatÂs down, but the humidity is UP, and I was dyingÂbut I kept going anywayÂuntilÂI saw a moving mass of yellow a couple inches from my hands! OMG! It was a wasp nest! IÂm allergic to hymenoptera! Got out the wasp spray and soaked the area, and started working on the other side of the juniperÂwhen what to my wondering eyes should appearÂbut ANOTHER wasp nest. Drenched that one, and cleaned up the juniper a little bit on the FAR side of the two nests. Since there were still wasps returning to their "extinct" nests, I wound up with about 80% of the juniper finished, and one corner sticking up a couple feet above the rest of it. Looked pretty weird! Just got in from finishing it today, and now IÂm all itchy and poky feeling! Just love junipers! But itÂs doneÂand the wasps are gone! Well, kinda! I saw a bunch around my compost pile earlier today. IÂll be out there with the wasp spray in a little while. But, anywayÂwith all the land youÂve got out there, and all the work you must be doing, IÂd say you deserve a few lazy days! Ok, Grrrr. It seems not only did I exceed the bandwidth of my photo sharing site (until tomorrow when my month is over I think), but it appears that I may have crashed the Ft2Garden.com server bandwidth as well. I was posting about the photo site when it gave me an error when I tried posting. After checking Judy's blog and the Ft2Garden.com forum, they were all down. I can only assume the two are related. Who knew my 15 minutes of fame would have such unintended consequences. Oops!

With regard to the violent shaking during the spin, it sounds as though the shipping bolts have not been removed. When the unit is that loud the bolts are still in and continued used will damage the unit. Steam wash is not going to be dramatic as if there were dry ice in the machine. Are you using the light in the drum, you should be able to see steam w/the light on and there will be a trickle of water from the recirculating nozzle. Your owner's manuel must be one of the new ones because mine has no mention of door being "dangerously hot". The door on the machine will lock to where you cannot open the machine AT ALL during the steam and sanitary washes because of the potential for injury. (LG's explanation) After the steam wash cycle and clothes have been rinsed in what equates to be warm water and with a spin of 1300 rpm's you are not going to have piping hot clothes. After the steamfresh cycle the clothes will tumble after the steam has been applied, so it goes to reason with no additional steam being applied coupled with the tumble action the clothes will cool. Do a search on this forum for dynamic level which is vital on all FL's.

Beekeeper-When my kids were little I was so lax about them walking around with food and crayons. Now I am a drill sergeant. "Let me see your hands" is what I say after they've eaten and are about to sit on the couch. I make them wash their hands even if I don't see anything. I will definitely go with slipcovers, being that I'm as strict as I am. Thank you! I will try and find a code or ask someone. Polly929 on a previous post, and who has the penney's slipcovered sofa, mentioned she cleans the cushion covers in the wash. I think the company posts "dry clean" as a precaution but that's just my guess. Macy's now has the Lucie slipcovered line in stores. Unfortunately at this point the company doesn't make extra slipcovers. This collection looks just like the one at Penney's but they are just ever so slightly different. Thanks for the info! Wow Sherry, you've done a wonderful job with the blog. I am new to the concept after not having a computer for two or three years or so. I am very impressed. And I bet Chelsea is proud of her mom too. Murray

As usual, your work is OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do you find time to do all that you do in the school, the community, consulting, gardening, raising butterflies, helping family members and others, blogging, and HOMEMAKING. Remind Bill that we're very interested in receiving his present at the appropriate time. Hope he continues with his amazing recovery and is back to his normal surfing skills. BTW, did anyone send you a Target giftcard?
