Micki, I see you don't have your zone or state in your user name sign in line - where you live can make a difference in the answers you might get to some of your sowing questions. I know you mentioned 60F someplace earlier so you sure aren't here! But I have to pay special attention to the sowing medium and drainage in my wet location where others could be a little more casual. On the other hand, I've never had to water a container, or be concerned seedlings could cook with too hot sun....

The two most common insects that would cause holes in leaves, Rose Chafers and Japanese Beetles, are not out and about yet. Or I think they are not out in Zone 6 (I cannot tell where you are). Until you catch them in action, I would hesitate to try any insecticides. Have you checked under the leaves? At night? Those leaves are the most tender ones so some chewer pest is causing it. Do you have any caterpillars in your area at this time? You might want to get help with a local nursery. Take a sample in a transparent sealed plastic envelope and see if they can help. Your Ag. Extension Service is another useful tool you could use. I doubt the big stores (HD, Lowes) would be helpful. Luis

I had a Kenmore TL. Not sure if it was an elite, but pretty much all of the drums for the top loaders are made the same way. I had only had mine about two years when it started to rust around the little drain holes. Unless she was washing bags of coins there is really nothing she did wrong. Zippers, buttons, and snaps on clothing should not have done the damage. The Tide detergent would not have eaten away the glazing either. Good quality detergents, like Tide, have anti corrosion ingredients in them to prevent such issues. Washing machine drums are usually quality tested for that stuff. It is just a manufacturing error. The glaze wasn't put on efficiently so it has worn out faster. She can try to pull out the drum and put new glaze on. They sell it for bathtub repair. Otherwise, not much else can be done except replace the drum or buy a new washer. She, like I, just inadvertently got a lemon for lack of a better term. It happens, and because the machine is 5 years old I seriously doubt the manufacturer will replace it unless it is under an extended warranty that covers this type of problem. I would not recommend doing a lot of washing in it till it is fixed. She will start noticing rust spots on her clothing. I wish I could tell you something different, but it's better to tell you straight than have all of her clothes ruined with rust stains. HTH

There is the aspect of derating with multiple wires. When I was installing/roughing in alarms, I was instructed in no uncertain terms we were to make our own holes and not double up with anything, and at least in Canada, power/ac (inc doorbells etc) and data/lv couldn't be mixed, although comms could mix with security wiring for example. This pertains to Canadian rules and telephone specifically, but it says (quoting Telus literature) "The Canadian electrical code Part 1, rule#60-300 requires a minimum of 50mm (2") separation from power cables." It also goes on (not quoted as part of the code afaik) the wires should not run parallel to power cables within the same stud space, nor be pulled through holes occupied by electrical cables. Oddly, my BC electrical codes (simplified) doesn't refer to this rule at all.
