I wouldn't defenestrate them, either, particularly because of the purples. TFS!

I was wondering where these come from in the RSA...and asked just that. Looks like it's highish inland shrubbish hills.

They come from an area called the Little Karroo. The entire genus Gibbaeum are found nowhere else.

Those 3in pots? what's the age of these?

T: 1500W x 1

Caudex: those aren't 3" pots, I believe they are 4's.
Both are from seed, probably about 15 yrs old but the G. dispar has remained that size for many years while the G. pilosulum is a clumper. I repotted them last year for the first time in a decade. I've got a nice old clump of G. album too, and some G. nebrownii also from seed.

They certainly don't take up much real estate.
