Supposedly the hottest pepper in the world, with specimens clocking over 1 million Scoville Units. A Habanero has 200-300,000.

These lovelies were a gift from a neighbor, who used them in his recipe at a Chile cook-off and won first place.

i dont have any of the exact ones on your list, but i do have some very hot peppers. i have a small trade of white bullet habenero, and i also have some orange manzano. i might have some more. the manzano are my favorite of any i have grown, as a bonus they are very cold tolerant, extremely large, and can be overwintered, are perennial in the right climate. not as hot as some of those you list, but definitely very hot, good flavor, and juicy thick. if you dont want to trade for these.... i was mostly writing because i am interested in the sase for the older tomato seeds you have on your list. i will attach my trade list too.... I grew the Bhut plants from seed last year. 6 plants took about 4 months to start producing. I harvested pods three separate times on each plant. about 20 each time for a total 350 pods. Starting 300 plants this year...gotta have the best. Here is my recipe i can up in pint jars for me and my friends and a couple of burrito places in town (they sell the sauce in 1-tablespoon containers for a quarter.) LET ME ADD ONE NOTE. I GROW ALL THE FRESH INGREDIENTS MYSELF PEACOCKS PAINT REMOVER SAUCE 6 Bhut Pods-FRESH 6 Seranno Pods-FRESH 3 Orange Habenaro Pods-FRESH 6 Chocolate Jalepeno Pods-FRESH 6 Yellow Bananna Peppers-FRESH 25 Chili Petin (Birds Eye) Peppers-FRESH 6 cups Yellow Pear Tomatoes-FRESH 4 cups Tomatillos Roasted-FRESH 3 cups Cherry Tomatoes-FRESH 1 cup Yellow Bell Pepper-FRESH 10 Cloves Garlic-FRESH 3 bunchs appx. 20 Green Onions-FRESH tops and all 3 Walla Walla Sweet ONIONS Grown in Walla Walla Wash. Or 3 1015 onions from the Texas valley 1 cup Chopped Cilantro-Fresh 2 Tablespoons Ground Cumin from seeds-FRESH 1/4 cup chopped Oregino-FRESH 1/3 cup Sea Salt 3 tablespoons Fresh Ground Peppercorns 1 Whole Lime-skin and all 1 Whole Lemon-skin and all 1/2 cup Brown Sugar 2 tablespoons Chocolate Suryp 1 cup Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice 2 cups Cider Vinager 1 cups Distilled water 1/2 cup Gold Tequila (NOTE***use 1/4 cup in recipe***pour rest in shot glasses and drink yourself or share) NOW THE WORK BEGINS Chop all ingredients. process in blender to med. fine. I have everything seperated in bowls so I grab some of each and fill the blender half way and blend then pour it in a big pot. ***MAKE SURE YOU WEAR GOGGLES...MAKE SURE TOP LID IS ON BLENDER ANY THAT SPLASHES ON THE WALL WILL PEEL THE PAINT OFF**** Bring all ingredients to a boil. al soon as it boils reduce to simmer for 20 Min. Sterilize pint jars,caps, & lids in hot boiling water Fill jars to 1/2" of top....wipe rim clean with tequilla soaked paper towel. Hell pour a couple more shots for yourself. Put sealed jars in boiling water for 20 Min. then remove and set aside to cool...***Note*** you might half a jar left over so put it in the frig and make some Queso dip and add a couple of teaspoons of the sauce to it.....Grab some tortilla chips and the bottle of tequilla and sit down to watch the SUPER BOWL end eat and drink to your hearts content. Might be a little work to make all this but you should habe a couple of months supply of salsa to enjoy...CHOWA DOWN. RANDY

I have two nagas that have slender leaves similar to that and the other five look like more normal peppers. THe more slender leaves ones got less sunlight then the fatter leaves ones. Seeds are from the same person that I trust. Why dont you let em grow and see what you get. Even if they are not peppers at all might be something useful. At this point just takes a little water, sun and time with a tiny pinch if any fertilizer. Just my two cent worth. Kathy Newbie

Welcome, A 400W HID light should adequately cover a 4x4 foot area. I would look for a convertible ballast and start with a MH light and switch to HPS for flowering and pod production. If you haven't done so yet, you should check out the hydroponics forum here on GW as well. As for growing outside (I'm a couple of hundred K west of you in Ottawa), I started my Bhut seeds Jan. 5 and moved them up to 5 gallon pots under a 400W MH and moved them outside early June. They're doing well and I should have a decent harvest by end of our season. Best of luck, Bill

Bhut means ghost. They're also called Ghost Peppers. I had some of these donated here a few months back. I opened up the bag and I could feel the heat arising from the seeds, my sinuses cleared ;-) Congrats to your neighbor! Did he share his recipe?

You have to use a lot of caution with these. Have ready bread and BUTTER--not margerine--to eat with the peppers, there's something in the milkfat in the butter which helps tone down the heat. However, you think they burn going down? Well, they burn just as much going out too ;-O You'ld think a flame-thrower was shooting out your

In Indonesian culture, naga is a word for dragon. I guess one can breathe fire after eating these peppers. I love spicy food yet I think I will pass on this one.

"The word nÄga means "king cobra" in Sanskrit. The pepper is thought to originate from Nagaland in north-eastern India, and was originally named by the Naga people after the most venomous snake found in the region."

:-) I love spicy, hot food, but I think Naga jolokia will kill me. :-P Are you saving the seeds, Donn?

All he told me about his recipe is how he used the peppers. He used two of them, cut in thirds lengthwise. He removed the seeds and placenta, and cooked the 6 pieces in the recipe. Then he pulled them out and dried them for future re-use. He said it was painfully hot, but delicious.

The "one seed" story is fishy. The seed of hot peppers contains no capsaicin. The bulk of the stuff is in the placental tissue surrounding the seed. There is also some in the flesh of the fruit, but much less than in the placenta.
