Warning...if you bought boxed bulbs for Christmas gifts...

I opened up one of the Pasadena kits I bought from Van Engelen for giving this Christmas and they were starting to mold where the bulbs were resting on the plastic bags of "soil". I had to pot them all up instead of giving as boxed kits. Now I will have to take them in the car, probably already budded for the holidays. I only bought these as boxed kits because that is the only way they were selling them.

Also, I am wondering why they are selling them with pots with no drainage holes in them? And what is that funny disk with the hole in the middle? I threw away the potted soil, set the drainage trays (what good with no holes in the bottom of the pot that came with them?!), set the disk on top of the saucer. Then I planted the bulbs in square pots and slipped them back into the box with the pretty picture. I hope that presentation works.

I think the doughnut disk might be supposed to go over the top of the pot to hold the bulb steady in it, but it seems strange there are no directions!
