I havent grown any balls yet. I was supposed to do that last night. I wished someone would show pictures of naked brugs just to show me it will be ok.

Daniella, I am just doing the same thing with my cuttings. :( they look sad but they were dropping their leaves like crazy anyway so I just helped them along. I was depriving them of water to the point that I was beginning to think that was the reason they were doing so badly, but I have been seeing "things" on them and trying to treat that too. Now to just "wait and see"!!

maemae check out sheds and greenhouses section of the photo gallery and you will see my plants looking naked and sad too. don't worry those plants are so resilient, they will be in better shape in no time. i brought a brug in put it in a potting soil bag, no dirt on the root ball, was amazed at how it sprouted leaves, felt sorry for it ,and put it in dirt, and it's doing great. also, in the spring i'll have various colors to trade. so please keep in touch. thanks plantlover49.

Hey Kristy!! See in the 1st pic..down in the left hand corner? Thats the canna you gave me! She's a-poppin! Is it a dwarf or a big one? Judging by the size of the tuber I would say dwarf..not that it matters..just curious :)

It's been..one week since I noticed the leaves..
Cocked my head to the side and said I'm angry..
9 hours since I stripped off the leaves..
Sayin when the bugs are gone come back and see me..
3 hours since I last looked..
Realize its all my fault but couldn't tell you...
Bruggies I hope you'll forgive me..
But it'll still be 2 months 'fore I let you have leaves..

Daniella poor little naked suckers. I have removed some but not all yet. It really is going to look like starting over. I worked so hard to get all those leaves, lol. The canna I am not sure about. I ordered a box of assorted things so I would have more stuff to give in the secret santa boxes. I haven't divided mine yet but will have more in the spring if you want some more let me know. Those were just labeled assorted cannas. They may just be small. The crinum bulbs were really small also. I am so bad at wanting one of everything that its a problem when it comes to trading because I give away everything but the one I kept for myself, lol. Then I have to wait on the stuff I kept to get big enough to share. I am always giving away plants. If someone likes it I say oh, here I have another one take it. It makes me feel good to share flowers.

If it makes you feel better, take a look at my brug during the winter (Dec and 1/2 of Jan). This is a picture from early Dec. and it still had a couple of in-tact leaves. Right now, there are zero leaves and nothin but a bunch of bare twigs.I was looking at it today and found that there are leaves beginning to form.

You could always keep one with leaves and take it into the shower once a week.

Daniella, what do you mean by brug balls? Is it that you had your brugs shaped into a ball? Duh, o.k. I re-read your's and Mary's posts and I get it, you mean you had to get the nerve (balls) to strip the leaves off your brugs, lol! Hope all your problems with whatever was eating your leaves is gone.

Central Cali even if your brug is bare at least you have other green plants. Everything is bare as can be in my area. It's so depressing to look outside. Daniella your brugs will thank you later and the foliage grows back so quickly. I battle critters all winter while my plants are inside. As long as I can keep them in check I'm happy. Once I get my plants back outside critters aren't a problem.

What are those things on the left side of the pic that look like oranges? you are lucky you still have green! My snapdragons finally stopped blooming last week. I noticed today that my knockout roses are getting new growth, and my irises are poppin leaves up. Strange weather we are having..was freezing the other day, now we're supposed to be going back up to 60 in the next few days.
