Spring Must Be Close.....

because, for the first time this year, there were a good many small moths under the garage light when I took the dogs out. Unfortunately, nearly all my giant swallowtails have already emerged - too early - and a female pipevine swallowtail emerged today. Fortunately, I've got MANY more pipevine swallowtail chrysalids. It's been warm here lately, and even after a 'cold' front passed this afternoon, it's only going into the upper 40's tonight, then quickly warm up again.

I love the little emerald moths, and there was one out there, so I made a picture of it. I think it's a red bordered emerald/nemoria lixaria, but it could be a red-fringed emerald/n. bistriaria. They look so much alike, I don't know -
