Polka dot plant....what a surprise!

Do any of you "oldies" remember that in the Spring of 2008, I posted a picture of two teeny tiny polka dot plants - a tiny bit of foliage that bloomed - they were really small?

Well, it's an annual but I decided that they were so adorable, I would pot them up and save them over the winter. The two tiny bits of foliage started looking pitiful, but I continued to water them and put a frost cover on them (in the garage)when the outside temps were in the 20s - just to keep them extra warm. I just couldn't let them die...

Well, I planted them out in Spring of 2009 (you could barely see them - two tiny plants - with four leaves each and about two inches tall) and look what I ended up with! Amazing! In person, they look more pink and they were planted in one of the borders that I have behind my main gardens. I wished I planted them into my main borders with all my other nicer plants. Now I have to find a way to dig them out and repot them to save again. Wish me luck :0/
