I have not seen this forum that slow....so

We just a record here.
13 Days of below freezing temps.
Ours highs have been our normal lows, I am sooo ready for spring!

It's finally approaching normal here but still a bit below normal. The low last night was 53 and it's supposed to get into the low 70's today. It's even warmed up back home and is supposed to be in the 40's. I hope this is the end of these below normal temps. I can't imagine what the losses will be when all is said and done, especially to the farmers and even the animal life. I heard that 90% of the tropical fish destined for home aquariums have been lost. Evidently many are raised/housed in FL and the temps were just too low. I remember freaking about my fish tanks when we'd have a power outage during the winter but didn't even think about the retail supply when these cold temps began.

Good morning Lucy. No hangover here! But sure have a headache! Was planning on a quit night at home. Setting outside by the fire with DH. Ending up spending the night in the ER with HB having chest pain. Said they thought it was form stress but wanted him to stay. But the hard head checked himself out! He is going to follow up with his heart Dr. Anyway, hope your new years eve was better. Keep me and him in your prayers. I sure hope the worst is over and we have a better year ahead. Mom should be coming home this week. Thanks for the prayers. She is doing so much better. Up walking around, eating and all. Still needs a little walk on the stairs. But getting there. Barb thanks. Daniella gave me the idea last year when she said she grows her EE's in them. But Karyn is right...they do cost a lot. Our Lowes carried a few when I bought those 2. I want more though. Siam now if you could tell me what it looks like...the heliconia illustrious, I could say yes or no lol. That name says nothing to me. Sorry. Karyn I think I would have killed Rolando. My gosh who ever got them...they must still be grinning all over their faces. The sweet potato vine is a carry over from the one Kristy gave me last year. I just LOVE it. It grows fast. You can stick a leaf in the dirt and it grows a new plant. yupp love the vine and the color. Shawn no Banana in there. It is this huge growing Canna. Got it from the lady who was thrown out of her house by the Mother in law after her husband passed away. I wish I would have dug out more. I LOVE it because it is getting so tall! And of course the color! Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn...roflmao now THAT was funny. But even when I was younger and drank more...whiskey was not one of the things I liked to much lol Besides...do you think I could be gardening that much? Heck I drink a glass of red wine at night and can not do anything anymore ...hicks Lucy

I cant imagine Lucy big hugs for my friend... One of my brothers was at the gulf war... He made it on Worlds new tonight... He was a tank gunner... My whole family is military going back to the civil war.. I was a military brat got to go on The USS Ranger for family night... Sure didnt have sea legs like my step father... When my parents moved away My dad gave me a oil painting of the US ships over in Japan..A street vendor over there painted it during Vietnam era...It is a family treasure and my dad knew I would protect it for future generations.. I should take a pic... Military is spoecial to me...We lived on bases all over...I have good memories as a kid...Except missing him for 9 months while he was at sea...YES! God bless our military and their families...Thank god for them to protect us for our freedom....Freedom rings in America :)

Briana I would move to Florida, if it was not for the humidity. Everytime I come here, it is killing me all over again roflmao. Thank you for the Welcome. I DO LOVE FLORIDA though. A step closer to paradise...if you are just on vacation lol But I was here in June/July and all grandkids went to disney :-) This time I am just helping DD out. Yes another blow to folks who make a living with things grown or raised out in the open.

It also effects the prices now :-(

The weather has been very cold this year everywhere in North America! Record low temps and high levels of rain/snow. So much for global warming! It is almost as though the planet is laughing at the 'science' that has come under such negative scrutiny lately! Temperatures here have not been record lows, but we have experienced temperatures consistantly below normal, well below normal!

This week it is warming though and we are expecting near normal temps all week (50s during the day) I can't wait to spend a little time outdoors! November and December were soggy, January has been cold, my yard is a real mess! So glad that I came to this forum and started cuttings from my Brugmansia this year, I am sure to have some fatalities outside!

I am very worried about the impact on US food production and other industries which may be adversely impacted by this seasons' weather. The potential impact on food prices in the coming year will affect many people who are struggling in a tough economy.

I hope you all will have a wonderful day! and that the warming trend continues!
