Please help. My first fig tree has some issues.
Comments (21)Hey Florauk, I've been in contact with a Portuguese guy who knows a lot about our fig trees. He says my tree is probably a variety of the Pingo de Mel, but not the Pingo de Mel. He says it isn't fertilized by the wasp, even though the wasp can visit it. I can put the tree in my varanda, but all plants I had there, with the exception of my cactii, have been plagued with pests, and I am too afraid to let her out there, into the wilderness of my city varanda. I've had aphids, red spiders, caterpillars, conchinillas, some fluffy white thingy I forgot the name, you name it, I've had something die with it....See MorePlease Help - new fig tree having issues
Comments (3)The soil is pretty wet right now as we've had some heavy rains. That said, there have been a few times the leaves got a little droopy from lack of water as the pots are so small, the trees use up the water quickly. Both trees could have likely been exposed to a little over and under watering in the short time that I've had them. Only one tree is in distress though, and both have been cared for the same....See MoreSudden brown spots on pink Chitalpa Tree leaves

Comments (2)there is a very active fruit forum ... they do things a lot different that tree peeps .. and the most important.. is the 3 to 5 spraying PER YEAR .. to grow pretty fruit .. frankly.. i gave up on fruit a long time ago ... because it wasnt worth the effort ... there is nothing you can do ... to make what fruit you have pretty.. this year ... though you may still get some apples for a pie or 3 ... presuming of course.. they are good apples ... you still dont know that ... unless you want to invest considerable time and effort in fruit growing.. consider removal of the tree ... its ok, if you want to ... fruit peeps also do significant annual pruning.. to reduce the crop size.. and to open the tree up to get sun inside .. another annual maintenance .. resulting in a nice crop.. but a potentially ugly tree ... walk thru any local orchard ... and see what i mean ... its a great hobby.. if you want to invest the time.. effort and money ... but many of us.. chucked that hobby long ago ... ken...See More- 10 years ago
