Comments (3)>"I am seriously tempted to get a service for just one year to see if it makes a difference... " The only difference will be your bank account. Anything the services do - you can do even better and you are right, there is next year meaning you have this winter to educate yourself and then can plan accordingly. But first things first, Know the thistle is a bi-annual. Research that first....See MoreI thought I could pick it but now I have a mental block
Comments (3)I assume you're asking for a paint color for walls, yes? The squash color is an interesting choice. Are you worried because you already have a yellow room? As with so many other postings, I always suggest a celery green or Granny Smith green. I've got "Haven" by Sherwin Wms (or is it BM?) and It's been very calming, very "up" in emotional connection when paired with natural oak, gray-yellow, and gray. And it can tolerate my reds. Can the room tolerate a shrimp pink or a coral?...See MoreNow that I have HVX, remove now or when dormant?
Comments (9)I personally think Jon is wrong about Roundup killing a hosta, and the easiest way to tell is wait until next spring and see if any of it comes back. And I also think he has not distinguished between infective viral particles and live intracellular breeding viruses. But I also agree with his thesis that it wouldn't hurt to do it his way if you were going to dig up and kill the hosta anyway. Even if the roundup doesn't kill the hosta, maybe it will interfere with the hosta being a virus factory, and it is true that HVX is harder to spread when the hostas are going dormant. I realize I'm wading into a pretty charged discussion here, I'm willing to listen to disagreement. I take personal attacks poorly. I don't intend this as a personal attack, Jon. I have listened to all sides and read the material. This is my opinion of the interpretations of the facts....See MoreI thought I'd have tons of cuttings, until the Raccoon..
Comments (5)You might setup an alarm near your trees if possible. I have attached a link to the system I use in my garden to notify me of when the rabbits and squirrels are in the garden. I put mine in a little wooden box to keep the rain off. My neighbours probably think I'm crazy when they see me running out of my house in my boxers chasing those little buggers around the yard. They also have water sprinklers that will go off when something crosses the path of the sensor. Alarm System...See Morekqcrna
