Digging up 1.5' caliperTexas Live oak

I'm thinking about digging up this evergreen oak soon and plant it in a better spot with extra space to grow out and provide more shade (south side of the playground instead of north side where it is currently grown). It has been in the ground since January 2007 when it was a small 5g sized tree and it has grown quite a bit since then so I'm wondering how hard it is to dig it up in clay ground? Currently, there is 5 feet diameter of mulch so the ground is very crumbly under the mulch but not sure about root system. Should I try to dig up the tree with root ball held in the soil or knock the dirt out and plant them as bare root tree greatly reducing weight? I would prefer to do the bareroot if that's possible. Any advice?
