First Year Results W/S

Hey everyone, haven't had much time to post. I am having mixed feelings about my results.

Everything winter sown seems to be so tiny, and many plants once in the ground, haven't done so well. Namely, poppies, both Oriental and California varieties, Chinese Pagodas and Blue Pimpernel. I amended the soil, and did prepare the bed prior to planting out.

The only Yvonne's Salvia plants I have were sown under lights. The ones in the jugs, are still there, because are still too tiny. If it weren't for my 3 & 4 year old perennials and my annuals grown under lights, I would have naked beds. Hee hee!

When I go to the nursery I am so envious because I don't have much that is really in bloom.

That which did bloom, Salvia Clarissa and my African Daisy look so pathetic. I know I should be more patient, but I'm ready for more lush gardens.

I'm afraid to put anything else down, so I potted them up, still not seeing much growth.

Newbie needs encouragement!
